As stated in the above image, please continue to use spoiler boxes for the first seven days in which a file is available. However, due to legal restrictions, we kindly ask that you do NOT post any links in this topic to any Japanese raw files or English scanlations. For more information on this matter, please click here.

Sorry, no spoilers yet, but otherwise I'll probably forget to sticky it later.

Happy 1000 files people. Congrats to Gosho for making it so far and congrats to the people still sticking with the series.
Not quite sure this new digit will ever change (especially with our current progress), but hey, who knows, right?

I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.

Probably worth mentioning it's a magazine break next week.

Spoiler:
I hope something constructive will come from Sera meeting adult Shinichi...
My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

It's really just a question of when—will it be a case later this year, or will it be a case in 2018? And that's saying nothing of it potentially being the B-plot of a couple cases before it finally takes center stage, in, perhaps, a year or two.

Spoiler:
Yeah, I forgot it's DC and Gosho -_-. It as well might not be even close to solution in the next 10 years. Next case Sera will ask Conan "do you remember me?", Conan will think what to answer her, but they will be interrupted by a yet another murder and neither Sera nor Conan will return to that question in the next 10 years.

Okay, that's a bit too much, in terms of an estimate—even for DC (in terms of "something constructive" coming from Shinichi meeting Masumi, here).

Assuming that it's something like mid-October when this current series comes to an end (assuming a 10-parter), and assuming Gosho takes something like a two week break after this is over, I think early 2018 is a safe bet.

Spoiler:
Whoa, whoa, whoa... what makes you think this series will be even close to that long? Gosho's really cut back on even the 5-part cases, the past couple years—there haven't even been that many 4-part cases, over the past couple years. I'm not saying it's impossible (Holmes' Revelation was a 10-part case, and this case is a ShinichixRan case—that gives it better odds than most, if not all, other cases), but... to me, it's very unlikely. Hopefully, though, we'll get a scenario similar to Desperate Revival (where we got 3 connected cases over the course of 10 Files), here.

That depends. Just look at current Rum arc. It's been a few years now since it started, and we know almost nothing about it. Just that they screwed something in the past, that their appearance is pretty exotic and nobody, even among their colleagues, knows what does it mean and that their number is pretty low. Did I mention "they" or "their" too? Nothing constructive.

Now, I know that an arc is something much bigger than some random (regardless of how much plot related) "boy meets girl", and therefore needs some more time to develop, but if the plot of an arc did not even start yet despite all that years since it "officially" started, I doubt that such small details will take less time to develop. I bet Gosho already forgot that some years ago Sera was doing everything she could to make Conan remember her. And unfortunately Conan's memory is so weak that he probably also already forgot a half of what he managed to find out from Haibara anf others. For this reason he only will be remembering that Sera's question though one singke panel ;).

But you're saying it'll take 10 years for "small details" to lead to anything—even for DC, I feel, that's exaggerating.

After the flashback case, it's just a matter of figuring out, specifically, why she's approached him. The her getting him to remember her part is kinda done with, by now.

Wait, what did he "find out" from Shiho/Ai about Masumi? She knows even less about Masumi than Shinichi/Conan does.

Spoiler:
I believe he only made a connection, or maybe more like he saw a similarity between the 'mystery women' Mary and Haibara wiping the mascara off

The only thing we know that Sera was interested in Haibara ( stalking agasa, seeing haibara is his glasses reflection, hearing her voice and asking if it was haibara, then asking ran and sonoko about haibara, where sonoko almost nailed it with haibara true form, hehe !
However, after the Mystery train, she completely stopped. Then she started to try to get Conan to meet with her and her mom, then her mom warned her from him. And now she is finally meeting shinichi is his original form.

I dont think Conan is going to tell haibara much about Sera, and what he remembered, because sera is related to akai more like their brother and sister, and therefore ... if he wont talk about akai to haibara , he wont talk about sera to haibara, Although he probably needs too at some point ! so he can make some real connection.

I think that more progress would happen if Conan talks to Masumi, Mary and Akai ....... because haibara probably doesn't know much other then her sister Akemi, and barely anything about her parents. Unless her mother finally tells her something in the tapes about her " sister " or something like that.

Spoiler:
If the resemblance between Shiho/Ai and Mary (File 941/Episode 844) what Nemomon's referring to, I don't think Gosho forgot about that—and here's the thing about "Gosho forgetting stuff"—of course there's a chance he'll just forget stuff (he literally admitted he'd forgotten about Tomoaki Ariade), but you must also consider the possibility that, with DC being DC, that stuff isn't forgotten, but rather just not addressed until a later date (File 434/Episode 345 (2003/2004): Ran saves Shiho/Ai from Vermouth; File 956/Episode 867 (2016/2017): Ran recalls saving Shiho/Ai... and here's a more pertinent example—Holmes Revelation (Shinichi's confession): File 743–File 752 (2010); The Crimson School Trip (Ran's response): File 1,000–File 1,00X (2017)). It's not that it won't be addressed, it's that it'll take a long time to do so—so long that, by the time it's addressed, some say it would've been better if it hadn't been brought up in the first place.

And I, too, eagerly await the meeting between Shinichi/Conan and Mary and Masumi that reveals what they are doing in Japan—until then, though, who knows, in terms of their waxing and waning interest in Shinichi/Conan and/or Shiho/Ai and the lack of action taken on Mary's and Masumi's part (other than hotel-hopping).

Spoiler:
The abundant Shin-Ran fanservice does not manage to hide the fact that the writing which has led to this situation is mediocre with more holes than swiss cheese. We've gone from the antidote being something to take only in case of emergencies given the supposedly dangerous situation it puts Haibara and Shinichi in to it being handed by Haibara to Conan for some silly field trip just because he went all out to get back some no less silly phone strap.

Not to mention that Shinichi is now willing to take pictures with his classmates. You'd think he would avoid it given that, if the plot actually still made any sense, these pictures could have dangerous consequences.

On a positive note, the Kyoto art is nice, and the case looks somewhat interesting, but overall it's still poorly executed writing at best.
