Conan goes to Agasa's home to pick up the smartphone he'd been repairing . Haibara asks what did he want and Agasa says he came to pick the phone earlier since Haibara was going to give him when they went to the soccer match. He turns it on to find 17 messages from Ran in a group titled "School Field Trip" all asking him if he'll come to the trip and if he has suggestions followed by Ran getting annoyed at the lack of responses to his messages wondering if his phone got broken or something.
The DBs come back from seeing a soccer match in the train and Conan tries begging Haibara for the APTX antidote but she flat out refuses scolding him for not learning the lesson from what happened in London and remembering him about the short duration of it and that she can't predict what side-effects there'll be if he uses them in a row to avoid reverting during the school trip.
Higo had appeared during the match and met with Haibara, seeing how she had a smartphone strap of him and was amused. Conan tried to side with Haibara in supporting Big Osaka but it appears that they lost the match, making Haibara very annoyed and blaming Conan for that since he does stuff uncalled for: the train suddenly brakes and it knocks several of the DBs into the ground. Conan tries to show concern for Haibara but she sees through his acting.
The group returns to Agasa's house and talk about how they met Higo: but just when Haibara is getting in a better mood Genta comments that if Higo had taken part Big Osaka might've won: Haibara then realizes the strap of her smartphone has come off and cries about how she can't get it anymore and Higo had approved of it: she slumps into the floor from the shock since it was a unique stamp which she can't buy anymore, and, what's more, approved by Higo. Genta guesses she dropped it when they tripped on the train.
Then Subaru appears and asks what happened along with some curry which he got told it wasn't properly cooked and tried to cook it better so he brought some excess for the group: the DBs explain that the strap has been found in a train station and ask Subaru to drive them there: Haibara isn't coming because she's still shocked. Subaru then says he has plans and can't drive them there since he has plans to use the car for something else later but they should ask "him" since he saw a "familiar car" stopped next to Agasa's home. And that car is a white RX-7 so that means they should ask Amuro to drive them there.

Subaru confronts Amuro (who's sitting inside of his car) about if he has some other reason to hang around the area and Amuro replies that he wanted to nap a bit more since this spot felt good and exciting to sleep at. Subaru asks of him to take children to station.
Once there, the chil check something with a smartphone and Amuro seems to guess what it's about before they head to lost objects office, presumably retrieving the strap, but it turns out that Genta has lost his DB badge but nobody has delivered it to the lost objects office yet: Amuro asks about what the DB badge and Ayumi replies that Agasa made them.
Meanwhile, a mysterious man silently looks at the group...
Odds are high that the shadowman lurker isn't a plot-relevant character who we already know—in other words, odds are high that this isn't Rum—I find it very unlikely that the shadowman lurker is going to turn out to be Kanenori or something (especially since his facial structure and the shadowman lurker's don't match).
Who knows, since the end text on Page 16 mentioned "quick development," this may end up being the first 2 File case since Naeko's introduction (File 741–File 742, which, what do you know, took place immediately before Holmes' Revelation (File 743–File 752)), and just be about an older gentleman, who happens to have a daughter/grandaughter, trying to give back the strap, but when he mentions that this daughter/grandaughter loves Ryusuke, Shiho/Ai will let him keep it—thus making it quite similar, ultimately, to Tomorrow is There (File 699), which, what do you know, was immediately followed by Crisis Beckoned by the Red Omen (File 700–File 704).

About how Conan is going to find the strap, I noticed both the man's and the kid's arms are tanned, but not their hands. So Conan deduces they do a sport/other activity that requires gloves but not long sleeves, they go to ask in the place that activity is held and voilà, they find them. Or at least the kid, the man might be Mr. Shadowy Criminal. That's what I think

I find it odd that Conan gave amuro the phone to see the photo, and Haibara is clearly in it, like a close up of her, and It seems Amuro didn't even notice her.
I mean, does wearing a Hat change how you look completely ( haibara is wearing a hat in the photo, but she is clearly taking up at least 1/4 of the photo, as its a close up of her face and a man behind her taking the Higo Strap she dropped

Well, if I'm not mistaken he already met her during the "trapped in the back of a refrigerated truck with a dead body" case, if not on other occasions as well.
I don't think he officially met her at all, as she was hiding behind Conan and I don't think he got a good look at her, she pulled the hoodie to cover herself right away
I wonder if he even cares, since he probably thinks she is dead, from the mystery train case.

I don't really like how they need to make Shinichi kinda OOC by making him need to go through field trip even with all the possible dangers. then again conan nowadays seems to be very sloppy at trying to hide his identity, so might not be OOC too much....
and worse, one of the BO members, who isn't even 100% in your team is always keeping watch near them.
but well.. let's hope it leads to "real big plot" for chapter 1000

Amuro and the DBs move to Danny's and talk about how they'll find the father and son who mistakenly picked up the Higo strap. Seeing how they're rather tanned so Mitsuhiko wonders if they're going to bathe in the sea.
Meanwhile, at Agasa's, Haibara is still in shock state as Agasa explains the situation to him and casually mentions that, on the inside, she's 18 year-old girl: Subaru does say that he prefers she keeps acting the little girl because it's easier to handle in terms of personality. Agasa got an email from the DBs telling about how things have complicated and wonders if they'll find the strap yet Subaru is confident they will since two of Japan's foremost investigators are working on it.
The DBs find the father and son but then the mysterious man with the beret steals it, baffling them, making Conan wonder WHY the man stole it.
Hm... I think I found a possible, reasonable (quasi-straightforward) cause/scenario for what happened so far.

Perhaps it started at that specific - til now not to be seen - moment, when Haibara bought the last Higo charm. The culprit could be behind Haibara and her companion(s) at the store. Although I don't know, how the culprit could follow them during the match, but it could be seen at the train on the third page right panel. The orientation of his stand was sideways in order to look occasionally to Haibara, looking perhaps the moment for catching the Higo charm. But it was this sudden stop, and the third persona in this case picked up the charm.
He fabricated a plan, in order to get that specific charm: he left a very look-alike charm1 at the lost-and-found2, because he knew, that Haibara (or perhaps DB-s) would realize, that it's not the charm, what they looking for. And they would go on from this specific place, which is the only reasonable place3 to leave the lost and found objects. From this point it's easy, he has only to follow them secretly again.
And we could see, that he stole this charm at the recent spoiler pics...
Remarks:
1.) He bought the look-alike charm perhaps at the store, and his purpose was originally stealing at the way to home, and dropping the "fake-one" on the runaway to gain some time.
2.) The man at the lost-and-found said, that there was a much younger person (, than the person DB & Amuro looking for), who left this charm.
3.) But I wonder: why did the culprit leave at Chiyaricho station?
Finally, my thoughts about this: I cannot decide whether it's an odd (and a unique) or silly case. It contains a complication, but I just don't know. I am looking for the whole file...
I'm afraid those 4 spoiler pics are all we have, right now. We'll have to wait for the 18th (this coming Tuesday) to get the remaining 12 pages/the entirety of 998.
