I think your right about that when he was talking to Jodie and Camel he made a point to say my territory which obviously meant his jurisdiction and you know the old expression about too many cooks. I'm not a huge fan of the reveal simply because of how fierce of an enemy Bourbon could have been given his deductive reasoning. However I do like that they potentially have a real inside man unlike Kir whose leash is short and with Gin's suspicion unlikely to advance in the BO. I wonder if they'll try to use Rei to get to Vermouth since she's the only one he talks with and she seems to realize how smart he can be.

Same feeling here. If only the Kir arc never happened.. Akai + Amuro = Dream Team. Well, I don't mind Akai vs Amuro either.

I get the feeling Amuro might still become a problem at some point. He didn't exactly try to save Sherry (He didn't intend to kill her, but I think he would have handed her over). He wanted to sacrifice Akai to get higher up in the BO. And he planned to run over that teacher friend of Jodie to get a piece of info. I wouldn't really call him a good guy, even if he's against the BO.

I really doubt he intended to take her to the BO,especially if he was close to Elena.
Amuro planned that his collegues would come and collect her,by helicopter,I guess the collegues were policemen,like during the scarlet serie.I personally think he planned to fake her death too.Akai is a different matter,Amuro really hates Akai for some reason,so that's why he doesn't mind sacrificing Akai.Moreover bring back Shiho wouldn't get him closer to the boss,she's just a traitor who doesn't really endanger the BO,contrary to Akai whom the BO is scared of.
As for the teacher,we aren't sure that Amuro planned to run over her,it was Conan's thoughts,and back then he wasn't sure Amuro was a good guy.
For now besides sacrificing Akai for his mission,amuro didn't do bad things.

Plot Twist Haibara and Conan are cousins.

That would be funny,and also nice for Ai to found a new family.but this is unlikely

Basically any combo of those two is epic. Conan confirmed that Akai will back as Okiya and we saw Amuro at the Poirot so he's obviously not going anywhere either. Now that Amuro is under the impression that Okiya is just a grad student, though he did lose sight of the fact that Okiya has to tie into Conan somehow, it can allow Okiya to have some more freedom. We could see a case where Conan, Okiya, and Amuro are all involved and I'm really hoping we do.

Exactly.Amuro is smart he could find a way to fake her death...
The BO wants sherry dead,I don't see how taking her back alive in the BO would help Amuro in his mission to get closer to the boss.But anyway we'll probably have more explanations in the next file^^

I don't understand that why take someone back alive mean go against order or less benefit to kill. Bo could just kill her later. Alive is better than death. So it would profit Amuro's stand in BO.
If Amuro plans to fake Sherry's death. Why he didn't inform her from the start? Why tell her he will take her back to BO which both can presume Sherry will be killed. That will trigger Sherry's resistance for sure. No one listening to their conversation as far as Amuro knows.

Better safe than sorry? Perhaps he did think there's a possibility someone could be listening to their conversation? (This is of course assuming he really was planning to give Sherry to his pals).

The way the conversation played out is very typical of the way Gosho handles misdirects and red herrings. As soon as I saw it back then, some alarm bells started going off. It felt very much like "This is a good guy that, in the moment, Gosho is trying to make seem bad. Something is up here."

If you think about the possibilities in Conan terms, it is definitely more advisable and less risky for him to force Sherry onto the helicopter at gunpoint and explain once his colleagues are there than trying to convince her it's not all a trick beforehand. Amuro can't risk Vermouth catching on to the plan at any point, for obvious reasons, and he has no way of knowing who will overhear them. He has to get her on that helicopter for his side's plan to work, so whatever means necessary for that is better than risking revealing himself, her not believing him, and getting caught up with Vermouth coming by and having to get involved in a really awkward situation.

Keep in mind that almost all of the reckless behavior (as has been discussed endlessly here) exhibited by Conan characters can only be explained by "Gosho needed this to be as dramatic as possible". Everyone acting with the utmost practicality wouldn't make for very enduring suspense given that when that arc occurred, there was still a year and a half left before the revelations about Amuro's true allegiance.

I wonder if Yusaku is more involved in scarlet series than what we expect <only being a stand in for Akai>. It's quite interesting in the fact that his script winning award is called 'scarlet agent' and is based on someone from FBI. If it isn't a joke/random things made by Yukiko, then Yusaku must knows about Akai for quite a while (I think making a script is taking a lot of time even for a great author)

Well... there's a probability that he is just informed by Conan just in case that someday Yusaku goes home so that he won't be surprised that there's someone in his house.

I really want to know what the storyline of his script though... And surely the script isn't adapted from the fake death of Akai right? or else he's doomed if someone from the BO see this 'story about a scarlet agent which is based on someone from FBI'

I get the feeling that the mangaka aims for Conan to collect capable allies in taking down the Org. Before he only have himself and Agasa - Conan got shit scared lol
then Haibara came - too hesitant to join
then Heiji - a little capable but not that active in the frontline
then the FBI with Jodie and James - still not enough
Akai - I would say awesome, but they need insider
Kir - Insider, but restricted
Amuro - A great insider, but not cooperative with outsiders

Vermouth - unreliable leaker of info

this could go on forever as the manga story is =)
