Generally, trying to guess who the characters are by what they drink is a bad idea. It was used to trick readers into thinking Jodie was Vermouth before.
If you want to figure out who Okiya, Scar Akai, Sera, and the other mystery characters are, look at how they treat other characters (helpful to some, not so nice to others...), try to figure out what Conan and others like Ran and Haibara think about them, look for things like which hand is their dominant hand, and try to think of motives or reasons why they do everything or what they could do, but haven't done, etc. Don't forget about the possibility of disguises. Don't forget that when characters say mysterious things, sometimes there is more than one possible meaning so it's a good idea not to make too many assumptions, and instead focus on what the character does. I recommend keeping a list of things you think are clues, things you don't understand, and most importantly rereading the manga to make sure you didn't miss anything. Of course, if you read the threads you can find out what other people think if you don't want to take try by yourself first.

I think some people are just suspicious because we never even saw his face. Either it's a plot point or Calvados is just mysteeeeeeeriouuuuuuuuuss like that.

Calvados will probably be eventually used for backstory with Chianti and Korn. Maybe his identity is some minor character. Lol, wouldn't it be hilarious if it was Sanada Kazumi. I mean after all the only time he was mentioned was...after that case...and no one...knew where he...was...

Maybe I've got a better translation, but I doubt they would talk about recruiting a dead guy into a four man magician show.  Why do you think Calvados is Kazumi anyway?

because I still think Kazumi is a bit too suspicious in general, one too many coincidences and the blatant "this will be important later" part mentioning him in that case.

and also, I'm trying to think of a way that he dies, but the police never find it. Was that ever confirmed either way about Calvados, it might have been but I'm not quite sure...


regardless, I don't exactly think Sanada Kazumi mattering ever is as likely as say Okiya = Akai. But I think there's a good chance that he'll be important for at least a little bit someday.
