Okay, a long time passed and the mystery still remains unresolved... Shall we do a little bit more thinking, considering the facts lately revealed?
(Not gonna comment those teen pregnancy theories, incest theories and all other Elena=Shiho theories. What is this Bold & Beautiful?)

I actually don't think Gosho's forgotten the tapes thing - it is just the kind of "one person knows about" fact. It is probable Haibara's going to make some unpredictable move in the Bourbon's arc resolve. The reason? That very message from her mother. This is going to throw Conan's brilliant keikaku into disarray, making everything dangerous, desperate - exciting fro the fans. Something like her sudden appearance in Vermouth's arc (let's be honest, Conan may have learnt the truth about BO Boss that night and she *EF*ed everything) only cranked up to eleven.

Let's remember that Miyano Akemi remains one of the most important plot characters - even though because she's dead. Akai Shuuichi's past is all about her. The tapes probably holds some info connected to Shu. He didn't want to meet Haibara and they didn't. But isn't it possible that her mother knew about him (her older daughter boyfriend, so yeah)?

BTW. I don't believe Miyanos' mother's still alive. She's like Akemi - important, for gone.

I'd rather not think about it, but what if Elena actually was some agent? Let's see, we've had FBI and CIA already... Now what, Interpol? She was a foreigner, after all. It's getting pretty tiresome though... Even though our current spy, Kir, is surprisingly useless. And there's even more useless one getting ready... Yes, I mean HIM. Well, he did figure out Shinichi's secret so maybe not that bad.

As very little people care about my crazy ideas, I restate another idea for the tapes that is completely possible and yet is at the same time makes this topic if right meanless.

I think that tape has this

I am really ... (new) sorry I could not be with you on your special day.

Something that adds worth to my simple theory, is that Conan hear the tape and did not act in a way to suggest it was anything earth shaking. So something meanless is very likely.

Since Hairbara looks shocked, I want to know more about their relationship. Maybe her mom was cold to her and yet the tapes showed Hairbara a completely unexpected side of her mom.
