the idea would be (I'm sorry, I mean will) be awesome. I mean, Shiho's around the same age, it's not too hard to believe. And every anime evil organization needs a teenage genius, especially in shonen.

The most logical and obvious (in a good way) ending of this arc is Okiya saves Haibara from Scar Akai, we learn everything about Bourbon and both mystery characters are revealed, Haibara finds out exactly who Akai is, maybe some more info on the BO or even CIA and we go from there.

I wonder how 'Okiya saves Haibara from Scar Akai' can make Haibara finds out who Akai is.

The most logical ending of this arc is Okiya saves Sera from Scar Akai, Haibara finds out exactly who Akai is, and we go from there.

Presumably Okiya does something important while Haibara is around that lets her realize who he is, like take his glasses off. In any case Haibara won't find out Okiya is Akai per se, but Okiya is Moroboshi Dai, that dude who dated her sister. Maybe Conan recruits Agasa to get somewhere, Haibara tags along because she hates being left out of Black Org related activities, and Okiya is at the destination. Or maybe Haibara is already with Conan when it hits the fan and Okiya comes in later. Or maybe that rumored (interview spoilers) showdown between Ai and Sera (/interview spoilers) helps Haibara understand. Once the Bourbon clash starts, it will probably be easier to guess exactly how the situation will come about.

Whether it's meant to be the highlight of the arc or not, Haibara finding out who Akai is would be the biggest thing that happens in the arc, pending some ridiculous twist.

Well, I can't help thinking the possibility that Bourbon could be Akai Double since he hates Akai a lot and he is using his face to draw him.

If you remember a case about Shinichi double who hates the real Shinichi. 

On the hand, I wouldn't dismiss Masumi Sera who seem to have information about Conan and his friends.

I like to know where she gets.

That's exactly what I think^^I don't think there will be a lot of suspens in this arc,but I'm waiting to see Ai's reaction when she'll know the truth...that will be full of drama,I guess...

Maybe Ai and Sera will run to Scar Akai. Okiya try to save them but Sera think that Scar Akai is her brother so Okiya must reveal his true identity in front of Sera and Ai to make Sera believe he's the real Akai. And maybe Scar Akai already told Ai what Akai has done to her sister before Okiya reveal his true identity to her and Sera.

I remember a joke from someone in LJ for April Mop.

Okiya is, as expected, Shuu in disguise. But I never thought that Bourbon would really turn out to be Ai's childhood friend. It seems Shinichi only reminded her of him. It seems Gin and Bourbon's rivalry started because of Ai....
How original... It reminds me a bit of the Shiratori-Sato-Takagi triangle. *eyebrow twitches

I am of the opinion that if Akai is alive ( at the moment as far as I am concerned - He was killed off for real ), that will not be revealed until close to the end of the manga

I dunno, there are very few things I'd say for certain will be at the end.  The BO being defeated...yeah, that's it.  Gosho's pretty surprising in where he puts certain events.
