Serious plot hype going on here. Assuming the spoilers are true we have some major red flags.

1) Amuro is the mortal enemy/rival of Char Aznable. Bourbon hates Akai. Furuya Toru voiced Amuro. Akai is named after Char and his voice actor Shuuichi Ikeda. Go figure.
2) Male.
3) Detective.
4) Young (29).

All we need is some pictures of him to confirm he looks like a uniquely designed character vs. the usual case suspect. If this is the case, I'm calling him scar Akai out of mask and the Bourbon showdown in 800. All we need is Sera to show up at the end of this case and we have plot set and and match.

Abs- or anyone who can translate, this needs a better than google translate English version pretty extremely please. Serious stuff may be going down here.
