In Japan it's already the 18th so it's oficially out.

But remember: no asking or posting links to raw versions or scanlations.

Also i wanted to ask that if we read the manga from legal websites by paying can we talk about it?
Also the people here read the manga by fan translations or legal translations ?

If anyone reads any sort of translation in English of the newest chapter, it's from an illegal source. As a rule of thumb I simply suggest to not talk about where it is you read the manga because it's not an issue that needs to be brought up here.

What legal websites are there to read the manga on? (also on general, just because a website requires you to pay doesn't necessarily mean it's legal)

But nevertheless we'd prefer that you don't say who translated it or in what websites you read it.

File 985: Eri, in a tight spot

Conan sees Eri's lawyer-style writing in using "," (western commas) instead of "、" (Japanese commas) and realizes these messages in the chat come from the real Eri.

Eri hears the kidnappers say aloud that they've hacked into the chat so she sends a mysterious set of messages:

"I'm, cooking crab but"
"as a result two swordfishes,"
"look yummy..."
"Tonight, is bright so"
"should I got eat outside?"

Side-note: "A kidnapping case on a full moon night... Next issue: Kogoro (Uncle), I'm counting on you!!

This chapter is looking interesting so far. Definitely enjoyed 984 - it was a little bit thrilling too. Now I feel compelled to get myself a blazer with pockets that can fit a packet of tomato juice... Although it looks like the ultimate solution might be based on Japanese wordplay? Which is a bit of a pity for non-Japanese speakers.

Yes, my English is good but I still would've liked to collect all the volumes in my own language.

Yeah I have the volume with Haibara turning adult before mystery train which I think is the last one in finnish and some of the dialogue is translated with no passion its very robotic.

Lovely stuff guys, but this is getting out of topic. You can continue to talk about international release of the manga in another thread dedicated to this subject if you so desire.

The ringleader of the group seems way more intelligent than the other two. He had the other two people do the actual kidnapping. He made sure that the building would be difficult to escape. He warned them about opening the suitcase like he figured out that it was a trap of some kind. He has the other person pretend to be Eri to join in the chat and how to confuse it. He knew about taking out the sim cards to use VoIP calling for their phones and to disable GPS on Eri's phone. Also apparently hacked the other phone that Eri is using so they still have access to her other attempts at messaging. When Eri didn't answer the location question, he was able to put together that she was in an airtight space with no windows. He even knew to check the drawer for signs of warmness to see if she had actually been there, rather then just not seeing her there and looking somewhere else. He also maintains his mask over his mouth at all times, despite the other two pulling it down below their chins to talk.

The one thing that bothers me is that twice (once per chapter) he called Eri a female deer (doe), and talks about finding her as if its an actual hunt. makes me think that he might actually be a hunter, but that sounds a bit easy. Maybe he could just be another lawyer?? He and the guy with the triangle hat both use "Oi" as interjections, which doesn't sound very professional though...

I wonder why they plan to send this embarrassing video to Kogoro? Since it was brought up that the two of them are not actually divorced but living separately, I wonder if the kidnappers actually know of the separation? Or if the video is an attempt to get her to confess that she has had some sort of relationship outside of her marriage (which was probably a misunderstanding) and the main kidnapper was the other guy who then felt he was a victim of her "trickery". Now he wants her to confess that she was "leading him on" or something and send the tape to Kogoro, not realizing that the two are living separately, ect.

I wonder why they plan to send this embarrassing video to Kogoro?

To add insult to injury, I guess? I doubt sending the videos to Kogoro is the entirety of their plan, I'd think they want to put the videos up online in general, to utterly humiliate Eri, damage her reputation as a lawyer in the public eye etc. for their revenge, and sending it to Kogoro is just the cherry on top for them.
