Not that M18 revealed anything that the Mystery Train didn't. I doubt these eyes belong to Rum too.

Actually it did! It revealed that James Black was aware of Akai's survival!Serinox wrote:Not that M18 revealed anything that the Mystery Train didn't. I doubt these eyes belong to Rum too.

Alright, I'll give you that, but it wasn't canon until Akai said so in the manga. Until then, it was a non-canon fact like Kid knowing Conan's identity. Point is, maybe we'll get something in the manga, but the movie still won't have anything relevant on its own.

Re: What's the identity of Rum?
It still was canon because Gosho already planned it out beforehand and decided to leak it through the movie, since this revolves the main plot of DC, the movie staff cannot just add random facts, but ofc, as a whole, the movies cannot be considered canon until proven otherwise by the manga author! Since Gosho was willing to work with movie staff in regards to developing the actual plot, I'm just suggesting the possibility of him taking it to the next level with RUM's eyes...Serinox wrote:Alright, I'll give you that, but it wasn't canon until Akai said so in the manga. I know, but until further info, we can't dismiss that possibility, but that's just me being optimistic, my expectations are already low, but nontheless, I'm super hyped to get our third BO movie!DCUniverseAficionado wrote:Uchiha Shadow wrote:It just feels out of place to put eyes that belong to a non-BO related character in the middle of all these BO related characters. It's barely been a year and a half since Rum appeared—if Gosho's really going to do that, it'd be a massive shock.MeiTanteixX wrote:Since Gosho was willing to work with movie staff in regards to developing the actual plot, I'm just suggesting the possibility of him taking it to the next level with RUM's eyes...

You're correct—it will depend on further info, as in, what will the file that comes out a week before the movie releases (April 8th–13th) will be about, or what the file that will come out around the time the movie does (April 15th–20th) will be about.MeiTanteixX wrote:Until further info, we can't dismiss that possibility, but that's just me being optimistic, my expectations are already low, but nontheless, I'm super hyped to get our third BO movie!
It may be a non-canon movie, but yes, I, too, am very much anticipating its release.

Re: What's the identity of Rum?
They probably belong to one of the three Rums if we going that route. If Gosho wants to deal with one Rum in the movie then fine.
Although I don't think so because of those black eyelines under the eye. The shadow has two of them... Makes him seem more threatening when you think about it (MG, Sera and Shu only have 1).

It kind of gives that vibe of a more higher leveled character.

What if Rum is wearing a color contact on his or her right eye.k11chi wrote:They probably belong to one of the three Rums if we going that route. If Gosho wants to deal with one Rum in the movie then fine.

Re: What's the identity of Rum?
Rum has a prosthetic eye, the colors just indicate that one eye is real (the blue one) and one is not (yellow). The reveal has to have something to do with the fake eye getting exposed. One way to hide it would be contacts perhaps...ShuichiSera28 wrote:What if Rum is wearing a color contact on his or her right eye.k11chi wrote:They probably belong to one of the three Rums if we going that route. Re: What's the identity of Rum?

Rum or not, the yellow iris indicates either a prosthetic or a contact lens—I don't think anyone's eye can be that color.
The "hallowed ground that must never be opened" Shinichi/Conan is referring to in the promo may not have anything to do with the film's story, and may also just be the DC marketing team trying to overhype the film, but if the line is not a throwaway one, then I don't know what to make of it.
All the lines don't really give anything away (Vermouth's "Is that person on the move...?" line may be her referring to Rum, or another character), besides showing what's going to happen will be a big deal—as big a deal as a non-canon movie can be, of course.

I cut out a frame by frame of the eyes just for the hell of it (8 frames)
For what ever reason, there is this weird light coming in from the left side of the screen
and covers the yellow eye in the last two frames

Btw, can a person with a prosthetic eye even close that eye? Or does it depened on how the prosthetic eye was implanted?
