Hmmm u could be right, then again maybe not , u know i had a few theorys but most have already been said... either way i had the idea that shinichi KNEW okiya was a BO member and therefor is keeping him in his house so he could keep close tabs on him. what do you think,ne?
and dont you think the way he "investigates" shinichi is similar to the way vermouth did?

Well, how did conan know? he's not psychic.
if conan really knows his identity then he must have met him before.

well is not tat any of these theories has convincin evidence to back them up, they r all just possibilities where one wud be the truth.

I still say Okiya isn't Akai. The recent developments with the foiled bank robbery seem to indicate to me that Akai is still alive--even if that wasn't actually Akai, which I'm not certain about. But I don't think Gosho would keep insinuating that Akai is alive without intending to pull him out of his hat later in the series.

The memory loss and speech loss is probably faked if it really is Akai. If you've ever read "Tom Sawyer, Detective", it may be a similar tactic to avoid having to answer uncomfortable questions.

No, not really.  Conan 48:69 got the root correct, but did not use the correct version of it.  You see, identify is a verb whereas identity is a noun.  So, that makes it a grammar error, not a spelling mistake.  Unless they misplaced the last 't' with a 'f', then it would be a spelling mistake.

sorry i didn't read through 11 pages of forum, so i am not sure if anyone ever mentioned this.

when akai shuuichi was at BO, his name was Moroboshi Dai.  I don't know the Kanji for that, but this is what I do know.

"BOSHI" (HOSHI) means star: SUBARU means star
"DAI" means big: OKI has the same kanji character for big

I also didn't read through all the pages here, but didn't Conan smile and use his "aha, I know exactly what's happened"-expression when Eisuke said it seemed that someone in the FBI had died?
I gotta find that chapter and read Conan's answer again.

I don't know why but I'm quite sure that Okiya isn't Akai because, well, it's a bit too obviously, isn't it? (Okay, I just hope Gôshô's playing a trick on us, like - Look, there's someone new Conan immediately trusts in. Of course it's Akai who didn't just die when Kir shot him.)
I still think he's really Bourbon and maybe he's going to be another silver bullet because of the "I like black because it covers everything inside of me... but I also don't like it" (Do you know what I mean? I can't remember the right saying right now...)

I haven't really thought much about it all. I don't know if I should think Akai is aive, who Okiya really is or anything.
But more things I'm wondering about is: who is the guy who looks exactly like Akai with burn marks; the hand that tuched Conan's phone that might belong to Akai that so conveniently didn't burn; why Conan seems to trust Okiya, Okiya seem to know something about Conan (and Conan knows he knows (just guessing from the looks they gave each other and what they said to each other)); and what Conan knows that we don't know since he smiled and said everything is fine after being tod that someone in the FBI might have died.

I'll have to wait for more info before I start deciding what I want to think is going on. How annoying when we don't get to know everything Conan knows >.<
