I seriously think that this is much more probable (though overall still improbable).
Especially if we consider that... well....Sera has never even met Shinichi o.O I always thought Sera's interest in Conan was rather because she's sensing he's not "just a kid" or even because she might be sensing his involvement with her brother somehow, whatever.
(You rarely give Sonoko any credit for what she's spouting, but now of all times? XD)

well you should take a look at the recent files...you'll see that Sera's interest in Conan isn't only due to her brother...

When Sera told Ran to stay put and that "from this point on it's our territory" I couldn't stop grinning.  MY gawd the fangirls/boys.  Love how she keeps blushing around Conan and going "OMG YOU INVITE ME <3".  She like female Hattori bwahahah.

What I'd like to see at some point (whenever the flashback takes place) is that years ago, when Shinichi and Sera  first met, they both developed crushes on each other (meaning this happened before Shinichi knew he liked Ran), but due to unforgiving circumstances

they were forced to give it up. Shinichi then noticed that Ran was just as much a tomboy as Sera and subsequently forgot about her due to his having a new crush. Ran didn't remember because the memory of a love rival would've been too painful. /crazy theory

It's very unlikely that happened, but it gives you a lot to think about, right?

After recent revelations, I have to admit though that Sera=>Shinichi has gotten much more probable. I'm positive this won't be getting between ShinichixRan, considering Gosho's view of this relationship.
It being a one-sided love Sera=>Shinichi (to match Eisuke=>Ran) is not out of the question, or it's "just" some form of deep admiration. I get the feeling that Ran might have gotten different vibes from Sera, if she had really been a "threat" to her in terms of love rivalry. On the other hand... we can't deny that Gosho likes to make people conveniently forget (important) situations and happenings from the past *coughRottenApplecough* and it seems to be happening here as well. "Oh my, how could I forget that?  ::)"
Still, Ran's (vague) memories seem to be rather positive, I believe.

I think so too, especially how Sera pretty much remembers Shinichi (I supposed that's why she's so interested in Conan, just a theory though) but Shinichi doesn't really remember her, making this relationship really one sided, in a way.
