Well, at least in the anime, we often see them disappear on impact, while I don't remember seeing the needles disappear in the manga, I guess Agasa could have made something to make them vanish, then again, I guess it brings the question of why didn't the needle in Ran's but disappear on the Tequila case...

No, I am talking about where the bloody heck eighty to ninety pounds goes in several seconds. It's not like Conan leaves a puddle of nasty human goo behind. There would be a lot of smoke if the mass turned into that - from personal experience a small handfull of rapidly oxidizing caramel cubes gives off enough smoke to practically cloud a kitchen. The conservation of energy says that mass has to go somewhere and if it isn't mass anymore, then it has to be energy. E=mc²

Even if there cell death there is no disappearance of matter, most of what we eat is made of dead cells, so no, the body doesn't disintegrate when we lose cells, is not about biology, is about physics. Also there is the point of how he grows without eating like Genta before, he only takes a sip of alcohol or a small pill, how does he multiplies his weight and size?. Also this is getting further and further away from the topic, so i guess I'll stop now.

...but that would be a lot of CO₂ and he would probably suffocate himself and those around him!
One mole of an ideal gas at STP is 22.4 L. Assuming 40kg of his own mass is lost and most of the mass lost is a combination of carbon and hydrogen I am going to estimate that 2500 moles of gas are going to be produced of which carbon dioxide makes up a significant part. 22.4 liters/mol*2500 mols makes 56,000 liters of gas. 56000 liters is 56 cubic meters. If a room is 3 meters high and the floorspace is 18.6 repeating sq meters, that room is an equivalent volume that Conan would fill with gas entirely. Anyone in that room while Conan transforms would suffocate. Also, bystanders would notice the increased concentration of CO₂ and would respond with air hunger. Also there would probably be a nasty smelling breeze as air is displaced and naturally occurring sulfur in the body is converted to foul smelling H₂S.

let's return to the subject. i don't think that kogoro knows that conan is using him. if he only suspected that he would be very angry. proof: he allways gets angry when he realises that conan figures out some easy things and tels him not mess around. so kogoro wouldn't suport to be used by conan or by anyone else.
