True but unless Vermouth lost her memories the theory of her being Sherry's mother doesn't fit. And Vermouth already has proven that her memories are intact and in perfect condition by remembering who Jodie is and where she first met her.

...Besides James Black being Ai's mother fits better, slapping on a mustache and using a deep voice can't fool my sharp senses.

Not really.  I came up with a theory of how Akemi could be the BO boss. lol  I like the "really alive" theory...but even then...if she were, why would she leave Shiho and Akemi behind in such a dangerous situation?

That aside, if it is anything, I'd go with the, "I'm not really your mother" thing or something.  Maybe the theory that Vermouth is really Shiho's mother carries some weight here.  Seems that Ai would've been dead by now.  She was disguised as Araide, right?  She knows where the girl lives.  She knows where she goes to school.  Why is she biding her time with Ai?

mabey she lft them in a dangerous situation, because she believed in them , and if she showed up and protected them , they'll kill her. and the part where vermouth is shiho's mom is kind off possible , she is biding her time with Ai , because she promised conan that she will give up on sherry for now, but i dont get why she doesnt tell the BO about conan , just because he and ran  kind-off saved her life once , big deal she's a tricky stond BO member she could have found a way to save her self alone, how about <-  , vermouth is really shinichi's mom  , and yukiko is haibara's mom , i mean that will explain why haibara is so good in acting its in her genes

yeah i think he forgot this point   it's sad cause this moment really seems important(in the way haibara reacted ,i thought it was an important info about her family,or her paren'ts research... ) but for now gosho is focused on Akai and Bourbon... i hope we will know something about that later!

The problem with the I'm still alive theory is that it defeats the purpose of the tapes. It can be rightfully assumed that her mother made the tapes because she knew that her future was in doubt and gave them to Akemi for safe keeping. If she KNEW she was going to survive the incident, she would of never made the tapes or given them to Akemi since that would expose her.

not that I put much stock into the "I'm alive" theory, but it would make sense to put that on the tape even if she was sure she'd live, if she knew that she'd have to become seperated from shiho for some reason or another.

From her mildly surprised expression (as opposed to her intense-shocked expression when a BO member or someone linked to the BO is near, lol), and the background which seems to indicate a somewhat serious and somewhat sad atmosphere, and also the fact that she never mentioned it to Conan afterwards, I'm guessing that it's something private, like:

"I'm really sorry that you have to be involved in the Organisation as well, because of your father and me." 

But if it actually translates to "The truth is, I..." then maybe it could be "The truth is, I'm really glad that you chose to continue this research that your father and I have devoted our lives to."


but the 'maybe you're old enough to hear this' part potentially changes things.

I don't think Haibara would sit still if her mother had said "I'm really still alive...", she would probably try to contact her somehow even if her mother tells her not to.

Also I don't really buy the "I'm really Vermouth" theory because in the next few chapters Vermouth had a gun pointed at Haibara's head and in all probability would have shot if it hadn't been for Conan. :S

I thought the theory was that her mother said that she wasn't really her mother, not that she was Vermouth.  That aside, imo, I think that maybe Vermouth was experimenting with that drug (which Ai's parents were working on, which was passed on to Ai).  How else could she look the exact same age she did when killing Jodie's father?  That was what, 20+ yeas ago?

I think that the first part of the tape is even more important than the end. It's in fact a big lead to the BO and what they do.
I just thought that the part of the tape we know show us the personality of her parents. Why would she cooperate in the medical investigation, even if she knew she was going to end murdered?. 

Why did they join the BO in the first place?

Hmmm...... maybe by 18, it would be something like this:
