Hyoue sounds like a girl name, but it's probably common for guys, if not...could people from the BO have mistaken RUM for a female after hearing the first name? Really don't know much about Japanese names other than the standards

While I am extremely hesitant to suspect Mr. hulking Nagano cop here is Rum, you propose a pretty good idea in general. A feminine or feminine-like real name/alias might work as Rum's "feminine feature".

Koumei must have done something to earn such a high place in the Org, especially to be the Boss' right hand man. He's too young looking to be in the same bracket as Pisco.

Yamato is at same age as Koumei. I think their ages are kinda hard to be lied about because many other people know them.

Besides, one like Koumei can be the Boss' right hand man even though being young if he is with the Boss from his childhood (like, be the Boss' relative)

Im starting to like the koumei idea the more I think about the progression of the series, but sadly I don't see anything that really points to him(and I'm also judging from his past appearences).

same should apply to yamato, but the accident he was in because of a confrontation he had with a mysterious burglar, who had nothing to do with the case they had when this was mentioned, just keep bugging my mind! The appearance however can of course end up being an weird coincidence (gosho's troll), and so could the mysterious burglar...

By the way: if anyone was wondering, the file that Kano (the glasses cop who is killed) picked up is titled "Handgun Random Shooting Incident", the affair of 9 years ago mentioned in this chapter.

Hmm... I got some random theory right now when I read the translated file again...

What if both Kano and Takeda were members of the Woodpecker Association and thus the words the murderer(+Kan-chan) says refer to slaying down that Organization... Kano probably haven't realized it by the time he dies and was just looking for some dirt on the murderer... Or something.

@MoonRaven: I had the same idea. The "destroy the woodpecker" meant the organization/association with that name and the culprit wants to destroy them.

Hmm... could it be that Kuroda is the boss of Woodpecker then? He is quite suspicious after all. Remember Kan-chan's comment and the other information we got...

Because it is not impossible at all for Gosho to troll us by giving a RUM canditate and then revealing that character to be the boss of another organization.

...wait a sec.

What if the current Hyuoe(whatevs) Kuroda is RUM who replaced the previous one that got into coma. It could explain the changed haircolor, missing memories and the feel of being completely different person.
