Cyan/teal/turquoise/bluegreen is the complementary/negative of red. Stare at the dot in {the red circle in} this image for a{bout} 10/20 seconds, then look at the dot in circle outline to the right (source). If you don't see a light bluegreen color, either your brain is wired or your monitor calibrated a bit differently than mine, or you use different labels for colors than the ones I've learned.
The Japanese language didn't even clearly distinguish green from blue until the occupation after WWII. In case you doubt Wikipedia completely (understandable, but an overreaction), remember Aoyama has used that confusion in a story before, when Shin'ichi coached Takagi in Sato's marriage arrangement (32.11-33.2/ep253-254).

While that's true we do not have a suspect named 'teal' by Conan and Ran

Re: Files 683 and 684 (Spoilers)
This certainly has been an interesting case. The long ones always seem to be the most complicated.
I'd love to go into details about my thoughts, but to date most of my thoughts on the case have already be stated in the past few chapters.
The culprit is pretty smart. Texting all the suspects to come to the house. That way even if he was discovered around the house he would also have an excuse. He could just say he had received a text to come. On top of making it so none of the others could have an alibi. He would know the detective's email address due to seeing the original message on the phone.
The whole issue of color brings to mind the color wheel, or should I say what you can learn from the color wheel. The color wheel just doesn't show you how a color can be mixed. They also show you the color's contrast. At the three main parts you have the primary colors; red, yellow, and blue. Between those colors you see the mixtures of the primary colors. Red and Yellow will make orange, Yellow and Blue will make Green, and Blue and Red will make Purple. This is something that few don't realize unless they study colors. The color wheel also shows you the colors contrast. It's as easy as looking at the color you want and looking directly across the color wheel to find the contrast. Blue's contrast is Orange, Yellow's contrast is Purple, and Red's contrast is Green.
I read on the board that someone talking about the contrasts on film, such as negatives. I have a program on my computer that can use film negatives. I even ran an experiment using known negatives of white and black along with the red. Naturally the white turned black, the black turned white, but the red turned light blue. The color blue was used to name Aoi, the woman who died of a heart attack.
I already have a good idea what Conan and the others have planned for the trap. The Empty Fort Strategy has been used in fictional stories and possibly in real battles, if sources are to be believed.
The basic idea is that you make your fort look either empty or not on guard at all. Almost like telling your enemy, "come on in". A suspicious enemy will be cautious and suspect a trap. It's too good. Tales of the Empty Fort Strategy have said that the tempted enemy would either fall back or take camp for the night and not attack, fearing a possible trap.
Seems like they are setting a trap within a trap. Someone who doesn't have an ill will shall see no harm in entering. Someone who is suspecting a trap might not be so fast to come in or not come in at all. Each detective sent the email separately.
