Hey this time wasnt the first time when akai spoke about an unknown women!
In the file he picked up mr black who was kidnapped he said: "But I want her to regret... that she ever left me...with bitter tears." At first I thought he means Akemi but she is dead and someone dead cant cry bitter tears, can he/she?
So maybe there is somebody we don't know! It is also possible that Bourbon is this woman because we dont know wether bourbon is a he or a she, do we?
I hope he does not mean haibara because that wouldnt be very interesting, would it? Because everybody wants to see her dead! (Gin, Vermouth and now even Akai???  )

But maybe is "to love a woman" a metaphor! Maybe he only means that it is hard to love Akemi and to handle with the Organisation as sacrificially as a lover would?  (Hope u understand what I want to say)

Maybe, but how come he tells her in her face that he loves another woman at the same time? That would be cutting straight to core...but it won't be too surprising when you consider Akai's cold attitude.

I believe he's saying that he wants to get over his first love before he goes to another woman. He doesn't want to still think about a past relationship while with her.

It's like... you break up with a person, and you have a downtime before you run into another relationship in order to calm yourself and try to move on. You can't just be a playboy, that would make it seem like you didn't give a shit about your previous relationship. He's still in love with Akemi.

Re: on how Conan protected Ai: doesn't mean that he *loves* her. Conan would go to great length to protect just about anyone (even criminals -- see the Moonlight sonata case in volume 8). Plus Ai is his only hope of becoming Shinichi again.

Love wasn't the issue here, tiffishungry stated that Conan has never put himself in danger for Haibara and I showed otherwise. Also, in the Moonlight Sonata case, Conan tried to convince the culprit to leave with him while the fire was still manageable, he was never in immediate danger. He only would of been in danger if he actually fought and went back inside to save the culprit but he didn't, which shows he only goes to great lengths for certain people(Though he still feels guilt for not noticing that he drove the culprit into that corner).

Also what is the deal with this "Conan only has Ai around because she is his cure" thing spreading?

Well Conan always protect people who are in danger, and i think he's sorry that she (haibara) always think about the B.O, he wants her to move forward and live a normal life , Haibara is a great friend of him and he get on well with her more than Ayumi,Genta and Mitsuhiko because they have close ages! i don't know why SOME people mistake it for love,...
as for Shuichi's two loves they are undoubtly Akemi and Jodie,!!! the thought of Ran was cool XD

Didn't I cover this with you in a another topic a long time ago?
The evidence is there and one example is episode 335. When Yukiko tells Conan that she know Haibara likes him, Conan tries to confront her later that night and chickens out at the last moment. If it was another girl(other than Ran) I doubt his huge ego would let him get cold feet like that. Gosho knows how to sell books and by providing small clues like these, the Haibara vs. Ran battle will continue...even if it you don't like it. ..
