Why do people keep suggesting, or flat out saying, that this case shows Okiya as having better deduction skills than Conan/Shinichi. Okiya was only able to deduce this after hearing Sonoko's ninja comment, and then he passed the same thing on to Conan.

While Okiya may have deduced it before Conan, he heard the ninja hint before Conan as well.

Conan was there when Sonoko made the ninja comment.

In other words, you can always bet on Conan. Cause, it's his show.

At last, a comment I understand and endorse! It's a real pain when I lose internet access and return to find TWO files released.

I really like how everything is starting to fit in this arc, but i have to point out 2 things that really bother me:

1- What's with the rumors of Shinichi's death? where did okiya heard those?
i mean, almost everyone Shinichi knows, know that he is still alive.. (after all, he did appear in front of the whole school in the desperate revival arc), and if they don't, they just have to ask around..
if there's no corpse, there is no death.. he would be "missing".
But what really bothers me is that I, as a fan, have come to accept that this is a timeless story.. or maybe not timeless, because we know that some facts are proceeded by others, but it's a story where time isn't relevant. that's why we accepted over 50 valentine days, christmas, new years, etc. And now all of a sudden, there are rumors of his death because it's been a while since his last public appearence??
you can't have it both ways, either start next chapter with ran in college or, stop with the rumors nonsense!

2- this is more of a personal opinion: I don't really like the disguise plot turns.. It worked the first time, with vermouth, and i was really impressed by that, but if used a second time, it would be a real disappointment..
i just think it's the easy way for the BO to infiltrate conan/shinichi's environment and vice versa. It would be a real bummer if the final showdown of the arc, was defined by a disguise party in wich genta is bourbon, conan is vermouth in disguise, haibara is actually ran, etc. and shinichi, hattori, okiya, and the others are just standing there while everyone show who they really are..
I don't expect this to be at the same level with an actual adult mystery novel, but at least a little better than a scooby doo mystery story(i really liked those though  )..

p.s: I'm almost always wrong, so i'm just expexting Gosho to shut me down with a kickass final showdown

I remember two instances of the rumors. One came from a nasty reporter in V15-1 pg 8. Also, Hattori mentioned the rumors back in the Vermouth showdown as part of his reason that he dressed as Shinichi. There might be more mentions than that.
