This Sherlock trivia is definately the most interesting clue.  The series is full of characters who are into mystery novels but I don't recall any of the organisation members being among them.  It might be Bourbon but that's just speculation at this point.
To which I must add that while it's conceivable the password was thought of by Bourbon, it's still really bizarre that both Shin'ichiConan and Bourbon who are huge Holmes fanatics spelled The Incomplete Detective's name wrong. (Their spelling: "Shelling Ford", Correct spelling: "Sherrinford".)

As for this topic, I put Yuusaku being the head of the BO as one of my "wildest theories" in that particular topic. I highly doubt it's true though. ^^; My vote is maybe Bourbon's really the head?

I dont know if anyone said this yet but what about sonoko's father.  i think all we know about him is he is the head of a corporation and he is very very rich.  sounds supicious to me...

Or for a wild theory it is sonoko herself, lol.

Argh you beat me to it!

I was thinking of what was said about "if you knew the Black Organizations real name, it would give away the boss."  What companies do we know of that would point straight to the boss.  I don't know where it is based, but I know Sonoko's father's business has his name in it.  Very powerful person and seems to be able to get Sonoko into pretty much anything she wants.

Vermouth protect Shinichi Kudo cause Shinichi and Ran have save her once in New York at the old building while Vermouth/Sharon was disguise as the serial killer and fell off when she hit ladder handler...
I think Yusaku is a very kind person (i mean not a bad guy). and the big boss has to be someone else.or gim himself...
idk... ???

I think its most likely ...
1)Haibara's dad - since there wasn't much said about him (i think), like her mom left tapes and stuff but was there much info on his dad?
2)her mom - 2nd most unlikely for her to believe
3)her sis - the last of her family. althought i fidn it slightly unlikely.

4) agasa... but its just -NO WAY-. if going by the theeory that its someone ai-chan least suspects, then he'd be in it, but i still don't think its possible,...

Vermouth in disguise? I thought she only killed him?
From the few conversations Gin talks about the Boss it seems he respects(and maybe fears a bit) the Boss, so money can't be it. The boss has to be someone of great intellect or stature to turn leaders like Gin and Vermouth (heck even Pisco) into followers...and Atsushi(?) doesn't give off that impression.

Actually, money does does take a huge part in it, no matter what. They just can't work for free, and that there's always a price that they want. If there's nothing for them, then they'll no longer work for them. Organizations like this always deal with money.

I wasn't talking about their wages, I was talking about what keeps high members like Gin and Vermouth following orders and money isn't the answer. The high members are already rich and powerful outside the B.O.(most likely with the aid of the B.O.) so the boss can't just be some evil millionaire. He has to have something they respect and/or fear for him to keep so many egos in check.

I didn't say anything about wages, I said that money is involved no matter what they're into. Even if they are rich, money is still highly involved. You just can't work or do operations for nothing. Rich and powerful people will always want and try to be more rich and more powerful. If money wasn't involved, the B.O. wouldn't even be operating like they currently are right now.

You know, I think that you're coming onto something. Possibly, the boss of the B.O. could be Haibara's Grandfather, cause I know that people at that age want to live on forever. Now this is going to change my theory. At least I haven't written my essay on it yet for my website.

Right, maybe a dumb question, but I only read the manga, so could you tell me who that is? Surely not Shiho's grandfather? There has never been any mention about him. If it's her father on the other hand, then I can understand. Right now, he's in my list of most suspicious characters too.

And while I'm on the subject of the BO, I'm being suspicious of another character in the series, because I've heard that he appeared more frequently nowadays, and because I just cannot believe there won't be any BO-spies in the police force (the same with the FBI in my honest opinion). He recently transferred from Saitama to Shizuoka and was like a fan from det. Mouri. I'm talking about Sango Yokomizo. Frankly, I don't remember him much (wait, scrap that "much"), but he somehow made himself into my very own "most suspicious police force character". :P Guess I'll have to reread the whole manga series again. Unfortunately, it takes so long to reread it all, and all that just to investigate the police ... *sigh*

Well, you have to think too on what Gosho said, and hinted that the boss has appeared in some form in the manga. I know adults dream of living forever and staying young, but this dream would mostly be in the elderly's minds too.

Winnar! I've pointed him out before. (He's one of the potential assassination targets from 425. Dr. Tokiwa Eisaku)

I kinda wish he had more of a hawk nose and a chin, then he'd also be a good match with the old guy who was standing near Yukiko at Sharon Vineyard's funeral.

Lots of interesting things about his name, too. Especially the 常 kanji...
