Wow!!! You're so clever with that deduction! I can't think that I could forget Kobayashi-sensei with that hairstyle >"< And the proof to your deduction is out!Chekhov MacGuffin wrote: I haven't finished the chapter yet, but I started to entertain alternate ideas as to who Shiratori's sweetheart might be. I came up with two possibilities.
One is the first grade teacher Koboyashi Sumiko (26) whose hairstyle looks extremely similar to the girl's. She also looks a lot like Sato without her glasses. She would be really cute with Shiratori.Another hilarious possibility I came up with is Takagi himself. The bangs look almost identical and his skin may be dark from tanning due to police work...Spoiler:Kristantei, I will get around to replying to your deduction post when I get home from work.Spoiler:

I'm glad that the "drugged-Shiratori"-theory was right and wasn't that far-fetched after all.
But it makes me a bit upset that the "light of the cellphone-problem" was Gosho's or his assistant's mistake. Oh well...
Yeah, and congrats on your deduction Chekhov MacGuffin. ^^

The theory wasn't too far off of being possible. It just wasn't until this most recent chapter was there real evidence. He could of just been tired because he was bored with the movie. It also helps that she only lives about 5 minutes away by car.Misztina wrote: I'm glad that the "drugged-Shiratori"-theory was right and wasn't that far-fetched after all.

Re: Ch. 687: Shiratori's Memories
Yeah, without evidence everything remains only a theory/possibility. ^^'
Though the circumstances, like that she bought a drink for Shiratori, sit next to him, wore an outstanding hat, was probably our only suspect(only by seeing the first file of course) and that in the end Shiratori sighed made the chance higher.
Hm... I tend to like love the "Colombo"-cases, but somehow this wasn't such a brilliant one. Or at least I don't feel the same as I felt in the case of the Tenkaichi-festival (somewhere in the earliest volumes of DC). I hope the next case, unless it is a real BO case, will be something better again. ^^

Well, the thought I had was that, what good is an alibi witness that falls asleep? It wasn't until we learned that Nami took Conan and the others to lunch to thank them, how could she of known where they were seated for the movie? For a trick like this to work you need someone to spot that cell phone light and be able to call back on them later for the police to confirm. If the kids hadn't been with her she possibly would of told the police, "I had to cancel a call. Maybe those kids I met earlier, by chance, saw it. They were seated right behind me.".Misztina wrote: Yeah, without evidence everything remains only a theory/possibility. ^^'

Having lunch with the kids enabled her to know where they were sitting and what movie. For her trick to work she would of had to of bought her movie tickets after she had lunch with them. If she hadn't bought her tickets yet, why did she leave her wallet at the ticket machine at the time?
It's also ingenious in a certain way. Dressing the way she did was even part of the trick. When the police would ask around. They would of asked employees about a woman wearing a big puffy white hat and jacket. With so many people around they couldn't of remembered her. Even on the off chance someone really noticed her running around. They wouldn't of mentioned her because at the time she was most likely not wearing the hat and jacket.
Also in crowded movie theaters trash bags are filled and changed on a regular basis when things are very busy.
Also lucky for her Shiratori isn't a snorer.
This case almost feels like it was intended to give a happy ending to all those Shiratori fans out there who might of been heart broken after the big Takagi and Satou kiss.

I didn't forget about her, but she's a big player. She just uses other men as toys.Chekhov MacGuffin wrote:Don't forget Yumi. Maybe the two of them are next?Kristantei wrote: There is still Chiba.
