I don't see why he can't. It tells me that Gosho knows that readers are more attached to the B.O. story, hence the slow progress!
This is another reason I think the Org. story won't have a happy ending. Aoyama could easily have Conan expose the boss and get much of the Org. arrested while still left waiting for Haibara to concoct a permanent cure. Then he could fight another evil crime organization between mysteries, maybe even teaming up with Kaito against his Org., necessarily staying in hiding because they might otherwise want to dissect him to learn why he's young again.
The Org. stories don't help popularity that much. This was a very popular manga and TV anime since before the anime even bothered to keep the continuity with the Org. in the series. If anything, trying to have it both ways, as episodic and never ending epic, has hurt the ratings. New people are driven away by the impossible to follow overarching plot, and fans of the Org, plot are alienated with all those so called "filler" and the appearance that nothing has impacted Conan enough to change the usual formula.

That is very silly and convoluted to rob a bank to make e-fund transfers to off shore accounts. There is no great surprise it failed. The guy from the second season of GitS:Stand Alone Complex had a better idea of the bank fraud.
I laughed at the fact that I was right about the guys when they were caught. Notice that when they tied each other up they are the only people not wearing coats. They were the only ones with just shirts. Not to mention it's pretty obvious that they would place themselves as far away from the bombs as possible.
There are other things that could get them caught as well. If they tied themselves up that would mean that their finger prints would be the only ones that match the tape they were tied up with. All the real hostages were tied up by other people. No one tied them self up, other then the robbers.
There is also how they are tied up. Put your hands together. Now, if someone was to tie you up the way the hostages are your hands would be behind your back. The tops of your hands, closest to your thumbs, would be facing your backs and hard to get to.
If your hands are in front of you the way they are now everything is reversed. If you were to tie yourself up the back of your hands are hard to get to yourself. Even if you tied yourself up and slipped your hands behind your back later. The point at which you would of torn the tape would be up against your back now. That's a dead give away. Those would of been collected as evidence by the police as possible evidence in finding out who the robbers were. Being that close to a bomb, if it had gone off as planned, possibly would of destroyed prints. Standard procedure for police evidence collection like that should be to use a marker and draw two lines and cut in between them.
These guys would of been caught easily. Thankfully with Conan no one had to die.
Now to the issue of Akai. I still seriously doubt that this person we saw is the real Akai. He is far too smart to just be walking around without a disguise if he faked his death. Being seen like that would put at risk everything him and Rena worked for.
There is the question then as to who is this person. Why dress up as Akai? Bigger question would be to ask why then save Conan? He could of gotten the gun from the guns the robbers left with the disguised hostages.
There is the chance this could of been Vermouth, but I didn't see why she couldn't of mimicked Akai's voice. Unless that was a part of the test. There is also a chance this could of been Rena. Perhaps some new test Gin put her up to, but couldn't mimic the voice.
The whole memory and voice loss was something Jodie made up on the spot.
It also doesn't make much sense why Jodie would keep an injured Akai out there a secret from the other FBI. If that's what she honestly believed what happened. She obviously didn't image she saw him there.
Unless my translating skills are rubbish, didn't the robbers tell people to gag themselves or do something with themselves with the tape anyway?
Plus, I think Akai really is Akai because, even though that CIA guy did it and it really, really, really couldn't be helped and it was a spur of the moment thing for his daughter, no alphabet organisation agent would actually kill themselves. I think it was an elaborate fake cooked up by Akai himself, since he didn't tell the FBI about the Rena plan either, and he lost his memeory. However, if you suffer from amnesia (correct me if I'm wrong) it is possible to regain your memory or have flashes where your subconscious triggers your instincts and for someone as beast as Akai, shooting someone in the face (shoulder, whatever xP) with a pistol isn't that much of a task. I'm still working on the hand thing. >_>
Initially I thought it was Haibara although I remembered she was outside =(.

Just read what you have written down. First "it's the same" trick, then "it's a similiar trick". Same is not equal to similiar.
It was not the same trick, the idea was the same though, escape as victims. But I liked this case. Except the appearance of the DB. XD;;
Nevertheless, I'd liek to see more progress in the main story too, without too many fillers.
