i loved the episode it was funny could not stop laughing cause of conan and heiji

I think I said this when the case came out in the manga too, but I love how Conan's deductions relied on stereotyping. And then Heiji was like, "Hell yeah we all do that!"

I agree that the case wasn't anything special really, that Heiji and Conan were really funny (though I think my favorite moment was Kogoro explaining to Megure how he habitually name-drops him to weasel his way into crime scenes), and that the most interesting part was James's apparent lie to Jodie and Camel at the end.

I do have a complaint about that moment, though, that seems to crop up for me over and over during the Okiya/Bourbon arc. In earlier arcs, the anime didn't seem to draw as much attention to odd, "Hmm I wonder what that was about" moments such as that one. I feel like nowadays anime feels like we need to take twelve seconds after a moment like that to show characters' confused faces to draw attention to the fact that yes, we're supposed to wonder about this. Like if they don't draw attention to it, we won't pick up on the fact that it's a mystery, or something. Maybe it's my imagination, but I don't notice such problems in earlier arcs when I watch through DC.

Maybe it's due to the fact that the mysteries, such as odd character behavior and inconsistencies, in the Okiya/Bourbon arc are pretty explicitly laid out to both the audience and to a wider range of characters in the show rather than largely hidden like they were in earlier arcs, but it's distracting anyway.

I love the innocent stereotyping where a writer blatantly stereotypes but doesn't mean anything bad about it and just genuinely thinks that way or that everyone else does. It's interesting.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention one thing that bugged me: Kazuha's...tights, I guess.

I know that her shorts were pretty...well, short, but instead of making ugly tights they could've, oh I don't know, made longer shorts? -3-; I didn't mind Sera getting a sweater or even Kazuha's sweater, but those "tights" make it look like she's got blue legs rather than tights on :V
