So the basic theory, is that Sera is actually Akai's sister. Now I don't know all the hints but there's the eyes and Conan saying something...oh god what did he say? Something about how she reminds him of someone he knows or like she's related to someone he knows or something? But the big one being that stupid naming thing that makes the entire rest of the clues pointless to the fans of the, I dunno, maybe popular series that Japan might know of called Gundam? Just a guess. Basically, the idea is she's supposed to be Char Aznable's sister and since Char = Akai, then Sera must = Akai's sister. Yeah...I can't think of a way to defend that unless that last case was a hint of tricking people who know the typical formula for this series too well. It's probably true.
I just don't think, or to be more exact, don't want it to be just her sister. I mean, I really don't see the point, especially this late in the series. Akai has a sister...so? Who cares? Why does that matter? This plot is slow and drawn out enough as is, we don't need replaceable characters. I mean, I guess Gosho needed a strong female character after ignoring Haibara and Sato and giving up on even pretending Ran is anything other than Shinichi's love interest. Ok, it's called rebuilding characters but I'm not gonna complain. But the only point I see for her character beyond that is to be saved by Akai, which seems almost destined to be Haibara's role in this arc (and Haibara finding out Akai's identity is far more interesting for obvious reasons). And having this new strong character having to be saved when it really matters kinda takes away from that point in her character.
Cliched idea but I want her to be Bourbon. Sonoci I believe drew an excellent picture of a someway crazy Sera upside down revealing to Conan she's Bourbon and it looked pretty awesome. But really, this is mainly because I just want to see the mystery character that's very suspicious to actually be the bad guy. I kinda think it's a possibility because it's way too convenient. Scar Akai is almost certainly Bourbon but I have mentioned before that it was odd we've never seen what Bourbon's really looked like unless we're not supposed to know. And now we have this new character, Scar Akai has vanished for a while, she resembles Akai and her flat chest often has her mistaken for a guy. It's the perfect disguise, especially since I think Gosho is limiting completely unfair disguises to Kid and Vermouth. Besides, I'm surprised at the lack of genius teenagers in an evil organization in a shonen series. And hey, maybe she's still his sister and she went to the BO when she was younger because his brother was there. And maybe she joined but never left. Or even...and this literally just occured to me...that she's used to being evil and ok working for the BO and can be used as a contrast to say, Haibara who genuinely didn't want to do bad things and only did because she had to. Just some thoughts.
