question regarding the 345 special

Postby chinpokomon » January 27th, 2012, 7:20 am

first of all... awsome as hell, almost like the desperate revivel episodes. second, i didn't really understand the last part so if someone please explain it to me i would be really grateful.

1)how did conan figured that vermouth is Chris\Sharon Vineyard?
2)when vermouth got that sms from her boss conan said he can find his location using the sound the cellphone made? how's that possible?
3)what was the device conan was wearing? i understood it was a recorder+some kind of heart monotoring device but what was that for?
4)how the hell ran still cluless about the whole black organization after jumping into the middle of a gun fight to save haibara?
5)why vermouth keeps conan's real identity from her boss and the rest of the B.O?
6)isn't conan's fear that his identity will be revealed was for nothing seeing how gin said he doesn't even remember who is kudo shinichi is?
7)are the production staff idiots by repeating the false sentece "a secret makes a woman, woman"? it should be "a secret makes a woman A woman"

thnks in advance for the answers

2) A phone's button has a different sound depending on wich number you press. I think it's related to perfect pitch too...
5) I think it's because Shinichi saved her life when he was in N-Y.

1 It's a long story. Last candidates for Vermouth was Araide and Jodie, and Jodie helps Conan prove Araide didn't know detail in his father murder case, prove he is actually Vermouth in disguise
If you have time, read this
http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki ... estigation

Edit: If Conan believe Haibara, in the Busjacking case. It down Vermouth suspect to three people (Akai, Jodie, Araide). By "Vermouth" In Conan 's POV. It's only "BO Operative that came close to him" He did not know her name is Vermouth.
Later Conan conclude that in Pisco case, another BO operative was present because Conan rightly believe that someone give her handkerchief to Pisco. He able to deduct that said someone is Chris Vineyard and start to investigate her. Conan know Chris is a master of disguise (Sharon tell him in NewYork).
Last, after 4 Porsches case, Jodie and Araide bring an unconcious Haibara back to Agasa house. after they left, Conan search (off screen) and found listening device plant by Vermouth (Araide). This cut Akai from the list. Due to Mouri's investigation files were stolen. Conan again rightly conclude that Chris disguise as Araide and need th files to testify in court. But Conan did not trust Jodie either, so when she show up to pick Haibara up (before Araide) He has to ask her to prove Vermouth is Araide as I said in 1#

2 Vermouth contacts (send SMS to) the boss before he give the answer back. using the device in Conan's body, he will be able to determine what number and what content Vermouth send to the boss. Conan threaten Vermouth that, if she kill him or remove the device from his body, the information will be sent to his friend (Agasa) nearby, thus uncover the boss secret. Vermouth choose to put Conan to sleep and destroy that device, so she don't have to kill him and keep the org secret altogether.
If you have not watch beyond ep345. this should be a spoiler, but if you at around 420 then
Spoiler:
Each keypad of phone have difference note, by punching the boss's phone number, will make the note of the song "Nanatsu no ko".
Conan use this information to uncover the Boss phone number later.

3 Again, he hope when Vermouth get him (Which she get, eventually), she will contact the boss. He try to uncover the boss phone number by method described above. But Vermouth destroy the device so Conan got nothing.

4 Jodie make a cover story to lie her that it was only a kidnap case. Watch episode 346.

5 She impress him Conan impress Vermouth in some way, most importantly Ran and Shinichi save her from her death, when she disguise as a serial killer in the New-York case. Also Shinichi's word about there're no reason to not help someone.

6. (even)Vodka remember him. the point is he can't allow them to know he is alive.
7 I'm under the impression that "a secret makes a woman, woman" is right.

1) (Idem with the post above me)

2) Every buttons at cellphone produce different tones. so by listening to the tones, you can figure out which buttons she pressed to form a certain phone number (remember, phone number is unique. no one in this world has the same phone number). After you have the number, you can either :
- find the address by matching the number at public phonebook
- call the provider service centre to ask the address of phone number`s owner
- search the number at provider`s website to find the data of its owner
- or any alternatives I can`t think at the moment
As long as you have the number, finding the data of the number`s owner (name, address, etc) is not that difficult.

3) If I remember correctly, that device record the tone of Vermouth's phone. Conan will die if that heart monitoring device is broken and will send the record to Agasa which is relatively nearby. I am not sure. don`t quote me on this

4) I believe Ran is just suspicious on Jodie and decided to hide in Jodie`s car. Ran cannot hear the chatting outside so she is clueless about what happen. She hear the gunshot and decided to get out and find that haibara is in danger, then tries to save her without knowing anything. Then Jodie lied to Ran the following day. (same with above. don`t quote me on this)

5) (Idem with the post above me)

6) (Idem with the post above me)

7) I`m not an English native speaker, but I believe "a secret makes a woman, woman" is correct.

1) No disguise true. It is only hinted that vermouth is in disguise, it is never said until that case and every time before that case vermouth is shown, she is not in disquise. Also there are lots of clues that if Vermouth is in disguise, Jodie is not her as the matter and behavior are not right and she acts in a way to bring attention to herself, something a person in disguise would not do.

3) It is a kind of tracking device. Conanwas hoping as Haibara he would be taken to the BO Boss. He was forced to change that plan. Also as for the recording, I am very sure that Conan would have set it up as a remote recording device. After all he is risking his life and he know it would be a waste of he was killed and the data on him destroyed first. A remote device like that removes that as a possibility as no longer can the recorded data be as easily destroyed. Yes I know what he said, and I believe he at the time lied. It makes no sense to do that kind of thing any other way.

5) You got backwards He (Conan) and Ran saved her life. You might call it a life debt. As she and Shinnichi Mom were great friends and that might also have something to do with it.

6) At least three of the BO know about him. Haibara, Vermouth and Vodka. I sure he fears more know or will learn the secret. A great problem for him and Haibara is the learning about the shrinking thing. A lot of BO members like Pisco might have seen Haibara as a young girl. Notice how she tries to hide from the public eye. Recent case is another example of that. Conan might be fearing more for her then himself.

7) To me and IMO English would be more proper this way: A secret makes a woman, a woman.

"A secret makes a woman, woman" (possibly sans the comma) isn't entirely unreasonable without the "a". In that sentence the second "woman" could be used as an intriguing sounding replacement for a word like feminine or womanly. Using that logic the sentence could mean: (keeping) A secret makes a woman feminine. I'm not saying that is what was intended, but it's not a case where there's no defense at all for the given phrase.
Detective Movies Contest 2013: Information Thread  Current Faceoff

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."
