The murder caused the lights off and put a flashlight under the washing table, where Ran picked it up. The murder used that light to find his target, so Ran was feeling a bit guilty because she was holding the flashlight and afraid because she has seen the face of the murderer (and knows his identity). The hole shock let her lose her memory.
