@HADAA: My view is close to what kyuu said. I actually do like the OP, it's entertaining and I sort of like the song *shot to oblivion* but I feel that even if the words were perfectly matched with the video and it was a monumental fit with the song...my opinion still stands that it doesn't fit with Detective Conan, and therefore isn't really a good OP for it.


But that's just what I think, and in no way does it mean it's right

The first time I watched this was one of those awkward WTH I'm watching moments but after that there surprisingly are some good moments.

Like those case/text walls <3 And Moonlight Sonata case being the first to rip off is so AWESOMESAUSAGEHOLYPINEAPPLEANDPEAR

With all this Haibara posing as enemy. Why not Gin while wearing a Victorian suit? ;^; The epic levels would have been so high!

Clarification of symbolism in opening before we get the official translation, since everything about this opening is ***SYMBOLISM!!!!!*** (dramatic lightning effects):

The song mentions "being caught in a never-ending labyrinth" thus we have Conan searching for Ran who was taken away from him in the beginning of the song. He tries searching for her only to be caught up by previous cases, he manages to break away from said cases to chase after what's most important to him, only for the cases to keep taking him away (English words and bomb defusal). But Conan isn't always alone on his cases and has friends to help him (Heiji, Detective Boys). Conan continues to search for Ran and has people he's met throughout his journey help guide him to her through their actions or just from being involved in his life (Ai, all the character shots) along with guidance from his true self.

Ran's outfit: I'd imagine it's meant to be reminiscent of a wedding dress or just the mere fact that it's pale in colour represents purity. As to Ran's predicament and why she doesn't use her own skills (and is basically a damsel in distress for this opening) could represent Shinichi/Conan's fears of her getting involved in his struggles against the Black Organization.

Haibara's outfit: The colour implies her previous dealings with the Black Organization, but again, because she's pointing Conan in the right direction, we know she's no longer associated with them.

Least that's my spin on it.

You guys make it sound as if people/japanese people doesn't know Detective Conan... everyone knows about it there! D: There is no need to explain the story with the opening anymore.
And really, I prefer such a fancy/symbolic OP over a OP that has spoilers in it, like in some other animes.

Then again, there are either spoilerish OPs or OPs, that have people dance around and hardly tell you something about the Anime itself.
Usually, the very first OP tells you a bit about the story, OPs after that are getting fancy XD

I do remember the first part, but not very much the second. And if she's not standing at the top of some high thing or being kidnapped, I don't consider it a DiD situation As it stands in canon, the worst she is is an excessive whiner

well the plot's been so non-existant in the anime lately I can't blame people for confusing canon and non-canon.  (THE CHIBA CASE WAS CANON, THE SEANCE CASE WASN'T, WTF)

they changed kogoro's voice actor? when did that happen? i'm currently on the 330's so hearing kogoro's voice in the introduction was kinda weird since the original one was perfect but i guess i'll get used to it eventually

Back in 2009 (Kamiya Akira's last episode was 552). He claimed that the producers fired him due to contractual disputes but quickly retracted his statement (so we don't know what really happened). He's not working with DC anymore.
This new Kogorou voice was by Koyama Rikiya, also the Japanese dub for Jack Bauer in "24". (See episode 608 for an awesome 24 parody)
