You know how almost every first part of a 2 part filler case spends way too much time with details on things you couldn't care less about? That was this episode. However, it was made much better thanks to awesome old guys, random references to previous cases and NOT being a murder case. So it was more enjoyable than expected or probably has any right to be.

I liked this case. It's the first AO I've watched in a while.

I thought the old guys were pretty interesting as well. They had voices which really stood out. I loved it when that arrogant man just broke the phone of the otaku. I also enjoyed Mouri's excessive admiration for Yoko and Ran's face after Yoko used the hammer.

Story was quite boring though, and this episode was basically : 'follow Ran, Conan and Kogoro and see them do random stuff for 20 minutes'.

I opened that expecting a picture of Ran's dumb face, but got the case solution instead. I should have thought about that first. Oops.

You're talking about Nichiuri TV Producer Kamisuwa Mikihiko from Ep 594-595. Another one is Nichiuri TV Assistant Director Yatsukawa Kouji is from Ep 594-595 and then Ep 603-605.

No, this is his first time.
Takikawa is an actual professor in Tokyo, and co-authorized some science comic books for elementary kids featuring DC characters.

Kamisuwa Mikihiko is a pun to the DC animation producer Suwa Michihiko

He never appeared, but he knew Conan because Prof Agasa and Takikawa were acquiescence if not friends.
