Why is Kid in Conan's universe???

And yes, I think an adaptation should be faithful to the manga (story wise at least, for example I don't care if panty shots are censored), is that bad ? Overall the DC anime is ok, but it still has its share of problems : some important details are forgotten (ask Chekhov, she'll tell you), Conan magically learns Gin and Vodka's names, there's the Akemi's death issue (though they fixed that the way they could), some episodes have an odd adaptation (345), having Akako in the DC anime (not the MK one) is a problem (we discussed that a few weeks ago) etc...

I'll grant you that the 'again' was a bit too much, but the animators/producers did screw up quite a few times, and BTW, knowing what you're doing doesn't mean you can't screw up.  :P

Another example in the MK anime this time : the conan cameos. They're obviously intentional, they're pretty harmless (I even found the one in episode 5 quite funny) but it's still screwing up.

You know I'm over the little Conan Cameos in the MK specials.  They did used to have those omakes where they were all really just actors.  Though i'm not ready to start the insanity that the Magic Kaito Specials are a live action show someone is filming about Kid in the DC world.  The detective boys are being used as cheap extras because all those shots are of public places.  Also explain the lack of Hakuba he's being a snob and won't agree to have is name used.

Oh and the argument for the Clock tower heist as canon should be the fact that the story is a flashback that Kid is having before he takes off from Tokyo Tower to appear on the roof of the Haido City Hotel.

Episode 219 is actually part of the MK manga (Black Star file) and yes it is a flashback when Shinichi was still Shinichi and not Conan. He was telling the story to Jii before he went to Haido City Hotel, where he will eventually meet Shinichi as Conan

To be honest, if I haven't learned about Kid in DC, I wouldn't have read Magic Kaito. And I believe this is what Gosho also think, to tag his less-famous character with the prominent one, and make the less famous to also get famous.

At the very least, this universe blending still not as messed up as xxxHolic, Tsubasa Chronicles, and Cardcaptor Sakura.

Same. I remember wondering who the dude in the jazzy suit on the back of volume 16 was, then being awestruck and falling in love. Awhile later, I found out he was from his own manga, and basically hunted the internet nonstop until I found the chapters XD

for me...
I found MK first...from my friend's own manga library, translated to english.
and that was 6 years ago (I think...maybe more maybe less)
and I found DC only around a year ago...

and as for the universes...
I believe there are 2 different ones...
one which has supernatural elements...
and one which doesn't...

both of them have all the characters from DC and MK...
but in other witches etc are real and in other they are fakers...

They're two very different style of manga, so naturally there are conflicting elements I feel like Magic Kaito depends on the MST3K mantra more than DC does XD
