Can you do a gif of when Genta ran him and the other DB's over the edge? XD

you mean the moment he drives them off the cliff in the snowmobile?

you also could just give the exact time in the movie so i can get exactly what you want.

That can't be helped mainly because Conan somehow couldn't find solid evidence before the confrontation, although as I said before I prefer it to be the Showdown style between Conan and the Crazy Doc in Movie 4.

I don't know... I kinda LIKE seeing Conan in actual PAIN for once... Call me cruel and mean but Conan always seems to be witty and smooth about escaping from things. It's nice to see a change of pace. XD

Oh good, glad I'm not the only one ;). Still, they could've made him seem just a little bit wacko before the reveal, or a little less wacko after. Like, "Hey look kid, I don't really want to torture you for your friends' whereabouts, but a villain's gotta do what a villain's gotta do."

OH okay. Yeah. That's what I meant. :)

Ummm, I'm not sure exactly what time it is. I just watched it over Youtube so...

I guess in part 3/8, 0:47 to 0:51 if that'll help at all.....

Yeah. That PROBABLY would have been better.

yeah, that was definitely a problem. when you think about how many people would have died if conan hadn't saved the day, he comes off as a complete and total lunatic, yet nothing really indicates that. the fact that he has committed a crime works against that characterization if anything- in DC world (aside from the BO) the truly evil seem to mostly be people who live respectable lives on the surface, but have some sort of deep hate that consumes them from within. the villain is pretty much an 'average' unpleasant criminal.

Best movie since the first. I don't get why people complain that the villain wasn't a big deal, much like the first one (and several others), the bombs and resulting carnage are the main antagonist to the characters. But until all the movies post the first one, this uses bombs in a new and compelling way that brings back the emotions I felt when I first watched The Time Bombed Skyscraper. In this regard it is easily the most fun to watch.

However, it is not without visible plot holes, starting with.

- No cars damaged in the street/train bombing? I call BS, the force of impact alone was shown throwing cars, and it realistically would have done more. Also, I'd say a wrecked train counts.

- Ran thought the message was from Shinichi? Really? Snow leaves foot prints, how could she not see it had to be a kid (well, someone of kid size). Also, kind of pointless to the story.

- I kinda didn't find the spa scene funny, was it just me who the minute Kogoro said it was a spa spend the scene saying "It's a monkey, It's a monkey, It's a monkey, It's a monkey, Oh look, It's a monkey." The joke was so obvious so quickly it hurt.

- The Quiz's are a drag on the whole movies now, even the writers lamp shade it, Is this really a trend worth continuing? Do the puns justify the means?

- Conan seemed to step out of the movie twice to speak to children watching, once with the friends bit, and then with the cave scene. I guess that was the point, but it was jarring to the pace.

- Mizuki's involvement. Am I the only one who sees this as a major problem with the mystery? She has NO motive or incentive to do what she does and it's poorly explained at best. She knows that Touma saw her push her sister, she saw the car hit. The movie glossed over it, but then does she just see hide and see the following kidnapping? Besides that, was watching over him really necessary? She obviously didn't do anything illegal, just stupid (Well running from the scene was, but that didn't seem to be her focus).

Then, She goes to MURDER him, but wait, not really? Does this just seem to be a gap in sanity? What would she have to gain? How would doing that do anything expect for BRING BACK HIS MEMORIES. And then Conan is like, "It's okay." And NO ONE TAKES HER GUN AWAY. WHAT!!??!?!?!?!!?!?!?? Would any sane human be that forgiving?

And again, it really seems unnecessary to the overall plot and only adds holes.

However, minus those problems the core story, mystery, and action set pieces are so well used, so powerful, that everything I just mentioned becomes pointless. The scene where Ran is digging in the snow... it's just amazingly well placed and emotionally powerful to me.

Also, That inspector that talked slow... His voice was just awesome.

This movie was anime at its best. Gosho took reality in the DC universe as far it could [semi] logically go. I mean come on, he offset a FLOOD with an AVALANCHE. If that's not a God complex I don't know what is. That aside, I gotta say this movie definitely went more in the action direction as opposed to the mystery. I'd would call this movie an action/mystery, i mean it had all the key elements

- Literal Countdown
-Large scale traffic accident
-explosions
-subtle romantic sub plot[ keyword subtle, and by subtle I mean borderline non-existent]
-full circle moral lesson
-near death experience
-gunfight[more of a gunshot]

These are the things that Michael Bay throws into his magic action mixing pot when he makes movies.

Oh and was anyone else here aware that Conan could fly? Or snowboard for the matter? Or fly?

addressed this in my footnote. in movie 1, the carnage and destruction is the main goal of the villain. in this movie, they are secondary. the most dramatic moment in the first movie is the moment when everyone is saved and, at the same time, the evil desires of the villain are thwarted. in 15, the villain simply doesn't value human life- what he wants is money. he has already been defeated prior to the successful creation of the avalanche.

don't think gosho plays that much of role in the creation of the movies. idea-wise, the most important guy is kazunari kouchi (scriptwriter for 14/15 of the movies).

And that changes? I'll agree that Keisuke wasn't that interesting but ultimately the results of his actions is the main focus, and that was done wonderfully.

And thanks for that tidbit HADAA, ^^ Neat!
