Okay, finally watched it. Didn't read the other posts so I'm probably going to repeat some stuff.
I liked it more than the last film. Not a hard feat for this film to achieve, but I guess after the last one I had lowered my expectations regarding these films. Watching this after the end of this hell of a midterm week helped as well to enjoy this.
About the case - it was all too obvious who the culprit was. The twist that the girl's sister somehow responsible for her death was also not that shocking since from the start I theorized that this might have been the case. The only thing I couldn't figure out before the "reveal" was who was responsible to Touma's fall.
So all in all, the case wasn't all that great, but it was far better than the mystery of the last film (which was the.......goat, right?)
About the movie itself, what I really liked about this one is that it didn't try to be be with everyone, but instead only focused on one "group" - on the DB. The film doesn't try to be more than what it can, but rather is actually trying to limit the focus to only a number of characters, and I think it gives much better results (The Police department characters barely had any screen-time). That's actually what I disliked greatly about the previous film - too many groups and groups. each group of characters got a certain amount of screen-time, but not only did it harm the pace of the film, it was even annoying.
Regarding the choice of which group to focus on, I see why this movie wouldn't be liked at all by people who don't like the DB. I don't care though since I don't really dislike the characters in DC (that said, I wouldn't appreciate an Eisuke focused movie

).
Here I hope that they will keep this aspect of the film for the next one, and in that they would focus on another group of characters.
About the song at the end.........they reused an OP. That's preeeeeeeeety bad, I must say.
About the absurdity level. I complained a lot about the absurdity of the last film, but here's the funny thing, I wasn't really bothered by the absurdity of the exploding dam and causing an avalanche thing. Here are my reasons:
1) The whole climax was obvious from the first quarter of the film - there was a dam. We all know the writers like to use explosions, so it was obvious they were going to use that too for the dam. And the avalanche, well the movie had snow and snowboard, would the writers truly not use these settings for having an avalanche?
2) After the absurdity from the last film, I came in with full expectations for absurdness, so yeah......I got it, but at least expected it.
3) My absurdity meter already broke at the first 5 minutes of the film. I think this was a lousy thing in the writing actually. There are explosions and all in DC movies, but they seriously shouldn't have used this aspect both at the beginning and the end. If your beginning is a lot like your climax at the end, you're doing it wrong then. Thankfully though, it also affected the absurdity level at the end - making it to be less absurd and ridiculous than it would have been without that beginning. So yeah, thank you bad writing, you made this movie more enjoyable for me.
So yeah, I guess overall it was fun.
