I could totally see her doing something like Sensei from Full Metal Alchemist.  Shinichi would be threatened with a gun by the murderer, Ran would break the door down, beat up the murderer, then whenever anyone would ask who she was she'd yell that she's a housewife.
Also, to the Ran crying thing, she really doesn't cry as much as people like to say, and when she does there's a reason.  She doesn't just sit and cry, it's after she's done all she can do to help the situation, and is probably partly because of stress.  And it's not like crying is the only thing she does.

Ran would be more like Winry..wouldn't she?  Heiji seems to fit the persona of Mustang better in my opinion.  Vermouth would be a female Bradley, Vodka is Gluttony.

Speaking of character comparisons, am I the only one who ever looked at "Scar, Yoki, Mei, Marcoh" and thought "SesshoMaru, Jaken, Rin, Kohaku"?

Agreed with Slider, I'd hate to see Ran become a lawyer or cop just because her parents did. She doesn't quite seem the type for either... MAYBE cop, but it doesn't seem to really interest her.

Dude... frustration can make people cry. XD I can imagine her breaking down a little if that happens more than 5 times in one case in one day.

Not to mention she IS KIND of a little easy to cry.

Last time I checked being a house wife is really freakin stressful.  You have to do everything...and your shift never ends...and you get no pay... and probably no appreciation either.
