I wish they would remake it completely instead of simply remasterizing it since they took so many things out back in the days (and have it in 2 parts if necessary).

^This I completely agree with. The murder lasted around half the episode, including the murder and the resolution. While some modern episodes could scrape by as a 1 parter, this one DEFINITELY needs to be a two parter. Too bad it won't happen.

Plus it'd be very nice to see shiny new animations on the old scenes! (And it'd be nice to use the scene in the karaoke box for an AMV, good dramatic AMV. |D) I really love it when they reanimate the scene where Shinichi turns into Conan at Tropical Land! ;3 I just love the new look of the anime recently.

I'm also enjoying the new look! I'd also like it if they completely remade some of the older episodes, or animated some of the live actions with an improved storyline. The only problem is that they're not going to remake old episodes, just key points in the episodes, like the birth of Conan, Ran telling Conan she loves Shinichi, and other stuff like that. They're just too focused on the new stuff.

Oh, here's an idea! If they ever decide to churn out another lame movie, we could petition so that they'll completely remake a two hour special into a movie. Like ep. 345 or 425. At least it'd be better than some of the lame stuff they've come up with before, like Movie 11.

for me.. remastering is completely useless.. remaking old episodes and using the new character models will be worthwhile to watch..  I really agree with wakaramashita in this matter.

For anime broadcasting on Oct 22, YTV said it is remastered episode, magazine said it is anime original. Even the summary of Ep 635 is available. Now getting confused whether info from YTV or magazine is the correct one.

Even though it's remaster, something like Going For A Diet AO will probably air later date, just like bloody flower clock is the fake one but AO related to flower clock is aired later by just changing a title a bit.

When they 'remaster' these days, to they add things to make it widescreen? The old episodes were in 640x480 or close enough due to non-HD picture size, as opposed to the higher resolution and wider images nowadays.  Like totally redrawing the whole episode, or do they just clean up the print with some filters or something?

The remastered airings are bordered. And afaict, they rescan the picture at 1080p (as opposed to upscaling the old transfers, which looked like complete ass) and clean it up.

Having watched the NEP for 42 Remastered, I can say I really like the video quality of the remaster, but I like the original NEP better since did a really nice trick on the BGM (in the line where Ran goes "Shin'ichi... Shin'ichi, are you here?" they stop the preview BGM). Looking forward to the actual episode's airing next week
