I don't really need to explain any more...it seemed like an anime original type of case. boring and a stupid-crazy method.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, I was taking a pause from watching Conan and have just started again.
Just wondering: why does Gosho avoiding with so much stubbornness other murder motives than vengeance? And, what puzzles me even more, why does nobody ever ask him this in interviews? Is it possible I am the only one to whom this thing matters?

there's only been 2 manga cases since. To my surprise, this isn't a bad thing. (none are as good as the Seance case imo but that's just expected)

But why? Wouldn't it have been interesting to have something new in the series? It has been more than 600 episodes of the same thing and even most of the fillers follow the revenge plot. And you don't even ask yourself about the reason for this? Where is your curiosity?

he probably chooses vengeance because it's the the easiest motive to make where the viewer can still have some sort of sympathy for the murderer, and have the scene at the end where the criminal is broken down into tears by Conan as they realize the error of their ways. You wouldn't really get that with a criminal that's just a psycho (not that there's anything wrong with that), but I think Gosho likes to tie cases up like that.

But, other than avengers and psychos there are also those who kill for money, for power, for jealousy etc. Many classic-style detective stories could be done with these plots. It just seems strange Gosho tends to avoid them.
