Detective Conan OP #32

Well, it seems to be you know a lot regarding the anime and manga industry and understand the Japanese language and culture.

That's just cuz Waka is a straight up baller and is awesome.

okay, some things wrong/weird about this opening

1.  Putting the inner Ran-hater in me aside, the beginning of this opening is so corny and melodramatic..Do I really need to see Shinichi/Conan/Ran and even my beloved Ai make this series look anything but a mystery show?!  Don't get me started on Megure singing, that whole little shtick with them mouthing the words is just weird.

2.  About Ai...man, I  can see why people are starting to dislike her more and more now.  One- she doesn't get to be awesome Ai anymore in the series, Two - the openings aren't giving any justice to her.  Last op she gets scared over a snake, now its typical Ai relying on Detective Boys?  Dunno man..

3. Potential spoilerz in opening?!! Not that anyone doesn't know it by now due to a certain robot's theories, but I mean, kinda surprising that their actually going to show that akai and scar akai are not the same person.  Does this mean we are...getting closer to the end of the Okiya arc? (I don't read the manga.)

4. Notice how the opening gets way better when the B.O./FBI/CIA peeps are showed and they ARENT mouthing the damn lyrics.  Vermouth is like "..wtf are you idiots doing?"

The song itself is rather catchy, and the last couple of scenes makes this  little anime-only boy rather giddy that hopefully something big is going to come.

2. I can go with though. Ai had no friends as a kid and now she's a kid and has friends. I get what they were going with. It's fine, it's somewhat relevent to the actual show you are watching, if not particularly great.

The OP/ED is just as informative as the last scene in OVA 11 - mere eyecandies, nothing more nothing less.

I find that this is indeed the main problem with the recent openings. I'm a bit tired of the flashy colours, the corny dimension of the songs and/or images and the focus on romance. I know that, according to Gosho's words, DC is a romantic comedy, and that's why I'm fine with rather slow-paced romantic endings, but having the same kind of opening is getting annoying. I hope we get a darker opening soon a la 'Ai wa kurayami no naka de'.

Y'know, seeing this opening and the two Akai's pointing guns at each other has me thinking... is this going to be the last opening? I mean, will there be an AO ending?

I think they just found Chek's theory and decided to put that scene in the OP

Loved the song and the video 

We've known that for years.  It's not like Chekhov was just guessing based on "they have to be different" or something.  There was a rather large discussion when the bank robbery case first ended because Scarkai used his right hand, whereas Akai always used his left hand.

Or it's reminding people about them.  It's been what, 2 years since Scarkai appeared and 4-5 years since Akai appeared?

Agreed.  I see nothing wrong with her "win" for the series being that she actually has friends and a real life that the BO had kept her from before.

I have to admit, I find this opening (scenes wise) better than the few latest openings. The song is nice and catchy... well, I always liked Garnet Crow. Though it doesn't beat "Don't wanna lie". [s]Maybe it's just because I'm biased when it comes to B'z.[/s]

Anyway, the scenes used in this opening are better. At least there was no snake involved, this time. I also felt relieved because they didn't make Ai and the BO look dumb and lip-sync. I liked the few old scenes added, too. xD
