New scenes will most likely appear in the next DC episode on the 20th of August. These specials were treated just like some remastered episodes : new song but no new images.

This.  It's not the first time they've done this, and it certainly won't be the last.

If they do indeed do the expected and premiere a new animation for the OP with 627... that will be disappointing, as there's really no reason it couldn't have been ready for these specials other than time. If a lack of time actually was the reason, well...

Fortunately, the special itself is very, very well done and more than makes up for it (at least for me).

Apparently the japanese are still experiencing setsuden (summer only making it worse). I take that as a sufficient reason to justify delays in the production of some Conan material such as the openings.
