Detective Conan Live-Action TV Series

I've never read the manga actually - though I am planning to, the moment I catch up with the latest episode. Currently at episode 510.

... and also, I remember reading that some parts of the manga will be included in the live-action.

You're quite opposite to me: I mainly read manga, episodes only for reviewing purpose. And yes, I haven't seen any detail taken from manga in the series yet. Or it was the motive/trick that I didn't notice?

Hmm, there's something that's been bothering me for a long time now.

Have Detective Sato and Detective Takagi met Kudo Shinichi BEFORE he became Conan? Wasn't Sato introduced to the series after Miyano Shiho? And wasn't Takagi transferred under Megure after Sato was introduced to the viewers?

And during the first episode, Shinichi called Kogoro for advice on the case (how to check if a man's been living in a woman's apartment or something). In the first episode of the anime, Shinichi/Conan if I remember correctly didn't know how lousy a detective Kogoro actually was (otherwise he would've made that 'yeah right' face when Agasa suggested he stays with Ran because her father was a detective).

... so I'm just wondering if the series' setting is really before he became Conan...

I'm not too sure about Sato, but Takagi definitely met Kudo Shinichi before he became Conan. It was on the airplane during Shinichi's very first case.  I think its during the New York arc, but I am not %100 on that

That was Megure in the plane, not Takagi.

TAkagi was there too, together with Megure.

Yeah, both Megure and Takagi were in the plane, Takagi just didn't know Shinichi as well as he does in the present time.

Takagi already met Shinichi so Shinichi meeting Satou is very possible since Satou is already working under Megure before Takagi came..

I rather enjoyed how she and Shinichi worked together in this episode to corner the culprit. The intimate scenes in this episode were worse than episode 1's, though.

This is a detective live action series, cases are to be expected. And honestly, why bother with Shinichi's secrets or schoolife in a live action ? Unless of course you want something as lame as (or even worse than) OVA 11 (since we all know it involves a HUGE secret).
