Ran's hair

Is the reason Ran's hair is so stylized compared to the original artwork an attempt to differentiate her from Aoko? They look a lot alike. Or is there another reason? I see a lot of complaints online about her s0-called
"cone".

I've always found Ran's hair to be really strange. Oh, and if you ever want to cosplay as her, here's a tip that I learned from one of the librarians at my local library (I showed the pic of Ran to her ) :

Get a birthday hat

Either paint, or spray paint it brown.

And then put it on.

Whatever the reasons for her "cone" or what I'm use to calling it "horn" hair it still looks like she could kill someone with it.  All she has to do is ram her horn hair into someone.
