Apparently 613 will have scenes in the OP that are removed after the episode.  Haven't found a version on youtube w/o 614's raw yet.  

But it replaces a couple scenes that had Hattori in them with two new ones.  They feature Ran/Sonoko/Kazuha & another with Agasa talking to Yumi and Kobayashi fixing Shiratori's tie and also moves a couple others.

So loving the scene with the DB. And the beginning was awesome. Though, it also seemed cliche-y for the beginning of the anime OP.

And, while not re-using scenes I remembered: why does all the OPs with B'z contain a live-action sequence? Are they like... considered gods for receiving this special treatment?

While their divinity has yet to be definitively established by those in the medical profession (a decision is expected shortly), it's not really known as to why B'z originally had shots of the PV in the girigiri OP. It should be noted that Shoudou (neither in its 425 incarnation of the one used in 426-437) didn't have shots of the music video in it. I think it worked out really well here (for Don't Wanna Lie) simply because, unlike with girigiri and all of the re-hashing they did, they could actually animate around it and make it work.

My suspicion on why girigiri had live action in it is two-fold: Firstly, the girigiri music video was good. Secondly, and most importantly, the rehashing they did for that OP was pretty subpar editing (even for 1999). Perhaps they figured introducing B'z in live form would help remedy that. B'z usually puts out a great music video by comparison to some of their contemporaries, so that could be the what's-what there.

Spoiler-ific openings are common. "Truth" began before Haibara's appearance in the show. "Growing of my heart" had Chianti and Korn before they were introduced etc...
