I've ever visited Japan (Wakayama), but i couldn't find it in TV, only a anime commercial of Conan

YTV is a cable channel for youth in Canada.  In Japan, Conan airs Mondays at 7:30 p.m. on Nippon TV

I'm guessing like the 10-14 year old range maybe.. but even so.. it's still such a violent show.. though it goes hard on the point of showing that crime does not pay..

DC is one of the very few anime considered good family viewing in Japan (hence it's timeslot).  I doubt the show is considered exceptionally violent by Japanese audiences (I don't see how it's possible to catagorized Conan as "such a violent show" anyway, considering how much more violence is readily available).   So, children younger than your guess are probably watching weekly.

Anime fans always seem to make the same wrong assumptions, that somehow anime that's clearly targetted to children (which 99.999% of anime is) somehow isn't.  Go figure.

I'm guessing that within Japan, this show is not just watched by the 18-23 age demographic?

I'd be willing to guess this is probably the least likely demographic to be watching Conan in Japan, not being children or likely having children to watch with.

Sure, some of us like Conan despite the fact we aren't necessarily kids anymore, that's cool.  Some Japanese do too, but for the share of the market that puts DC in the top-10 weekly anime in Japan, it ain't anime nerds and it ain't 18-23ers either.

Humm...I wonder why they air shows on monday! First day into school (right?) and at dinner there is Conan =]
Okay maybe during the weekends family would not be at home.
However, we can try to make out how many episodes there will be this year ;) [12*4 / year ?]

That was the case before April 2009. Since then it has been on Saturdays 6:00pm-6:30pm, barring special circumstances.

It's not even the children. It's the stupid PARENTS! Children usually have no ISSUES seeing that sort of thing (at least where I am). It's just the protective-as-all-heck parents that thing "Oh my ten-year-old boy who dissects frogs on a day-to-day basis will get scared of seeing a doggy get killed!" ...... *Rolls eyes*
Definition of AyuCon:
An underrated couple overthrown by a mass of overrated couples in a world of fangirls/boys who like stoic characters and Mary-Sues.
