I was watching the mermaid case again, but one of the scenes which was deleted from the remastered version was Heiji telling Kazuha to stay by his side, I saw that in an AMV on youtube, does any one know if that line was originally in the manga or not?

Right after the girl's found dead in the net and people are being searched for her arrow, Kazuha starts thinking that because she has an arrow she'll be next, and Heiji tells her to stay by his side. Is that what you meant?

The situation with Heiji and Kazuha reminds me of Koizumi Risa and Atsushi Otani's story (recently saw Lovely Complex anime ouot of curiosity). Heiji's like Otani, it always takes him a while to realize things and he and Risa always bicker the way Heiji and Kazuha do. Seriously, they're meant for each other personality and appearance wise.

Though I'm not all for the romance in DC, I don't know why I'm attracted to this pairing and why I'm interested in seeing their relationship step a bit higher. Heiji, just confess to Kazuha now will you? Shinichi and Ran already did their thing.

Ahem, anyway, I agree in some ways, but I think Heiji does know he likes Kazuha.  I just don't think he wants to risk his friendship with her.  After all, they're just like Ran and Shinichi in that they have other friends but they're each others best friends since forever.  If something went wrong, then they'd be alone.  It's risky. 
Shinichi could confess because Ran's already told Conan that she likes him.  Heiji, no matter what his suspicions, would still be stepping into unknown territory.
So now we gotta shrink Heiji so we can get a confession.  Plus, little Heiji would be so cute!!!!!

(lol) ANd if its with heiji, I think when a police officer chases him out when he's finding clues for the case, he would shout loudly at the officer "I'M THE FAMOUS DETECTIVE HATTORI HEIJI! HANDS OFF!" and his cover'll be blown in an instant....

Heyy people, Kazuha confessed to heiji already! She said something like "You might already heard this from kudo but...It seems that kudo confessed to ran......th-the truth is...since a long time ago..I...I REALLY LIKE YOU!" (she wanted to show ran how its supposed to be done)  but, I think heiji was shocked that shinichi actually confessed to ran and didn't hear what kazuha said. sweet but kinda sad
