DC anime taught me that in Japan, people pour salt on the watermelon slices to eat. It happened in a filler episode.

From being here, I notice that people do that with sliced apples too.  Not sure if it's a common thing or a local thing, though.

Actually people in the US do that as well. Actually I was wondering if people in Japan spit the seeds out when eating watermelon or is that considered rude?

Just because someone's a thief doesn't mean they're evil.
If you're evil, then you'll have really cold eyes that young detectives can pick up.
Certain noises can only be heard by children.
Kids in Japan have to do radio exercises.

DC taught me that in Japan, people count on their fingers starting from the pinky towards the thumb, rather than the thumb towards the pinky like in the UK or the index towards the pinky and then the thumb like in Europe. (Genta frequently counts on his fingers, which was how I noticed.)

Too much to be written. I remember stuff like this only when I need them.
No amount of apologies will express how much I regret it.

(never throw a clothes-hanger at sbd)
Shiratori thought me a few wine-names .. chatue lafit .. ok, maybe not xD

You point the hour hand towards the sun. Japan/the USA/Europe being in the north hemisphere, the south is between the hour hand and the number 12 on the watch. Once you have the south, the rest is easy.

It's Château Lafite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_Lafite_Rothschild). I think there was also an episode with a Château Petrus wine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_P%C3%A9trus).

As for the Sakura flowers :
- tear the dotted line along a straw wrapper (it can work with other things)
-flatten it out to make it a long strip
-fold it into small squares
-tear out small pieces

:)

Never play Moonlight Sonata on the piano, alone in a dark room. The house will get set on fire, and you'll continue to play the song while the house is on fire...:'(
Sherlock Holmes - When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?

Conan Edogawa - A Detective who uses his deductive powers  to corner a suspect and then does nothing to stop that suspect from committing suicide...is NO better than a murderer himself.

Thank youu! I guess I'll have to by a watch now.  8-)
Shiratori mentioned quite a few wines in that OVA (16 (?) suspects), so C. Petrus could be one of them there too. =)

-If you see a young Japanese boy with glasses, and you're in a group of four, get an alibi quick.  Actually, just stay as close to the boy as you can without appearing creepy.
-hahaha, It's never a suicide.
-Young kids can't read lots of books/newpapers because they don't know the kanji.

Well, hows this?  I've learned that people in Japan must love using fishing line to commit their murders. ><

Like the term rigor mortis and the fact that luminol is used to detect blood
