I just watched through all 9 OVAs (minus OVA8) and here are my thoughts on them. WARNING spoilers!

OVA1: 5/5 I actually really liked this one. Felt almost like a Saturday morning cartoon, one where little thinking is needed and you just watch for the fun of it all. The inclusion of so many characters and the transforming medicine made it so much fun to just sit back and watch.

OVA2: 4/5 Shinichi should never EVER wear tight short shorts EVER again! I was mad as hell once they revealed who the culprit was… Almost a little saddened when I found out it was so simple… Then they revealed the truth at the end and this ova redeemed itself somewhat. Also, karaoke at the end during the credits was awesome. All in all, I liked this one.

OVA3: 2/5 Oh god, so not only do we have the Detective Boys, but now we have their evil twins… And Ohtaki scratched off the evil Ayumi’s hairpin thing and then she was wearing it later in the episode and it was perfect… All around though, I didn’t care much for the majority of this episode. It did have a fulfilling catch-the-bad-guys scene and ending though.

OVA4: 4.5/5 This was an all-around very well done Kid case. I enjoyed it! To have the setting on a train was a great idea, to have someone else try to steal what Kid was trying to steal as well was a great idea that should be used more often. The only thing I didn’t like was Ran in this episode. I swear… her constant “Conan what are you doing!?â€

I haven't seen all of them.  My favorite ones nave been OVA 2, OVA 5, and OVA 7.  The onlyones I haven't seen are OVAs 1 and 8.

Oh, I guess I must include the movie specials (guess they can sorta count here).  I liked the one for movie 12...but not a favorite.  Really curious of the movie 13 side-story OVA.

If you watched Yaiba you would enjoy OVA 1.  It's based on the Yaiba versus Kaitou KID chapter in Magic Kaito.

As for the side story for M13 it's good to have prior knowledge about mahjong.

OVA9: 5/5 That was too damn cute of an episode.  I really loved how it was done, even if it seemed like some of the characters barely matured at all throughout 10 years time.  It was a horrible what if situation, but I’m sure it won’t end up like this. I loved how Araide is now Conan’s rival too lmao. A great OVA this was, even if it was a little un-Detective Conan like. And I’m now 100% RanXShinichi lol

And don't worry I also think that OVA 9 was horribleness.   But then I think anything that isn't by Gosho is all horriblenessness. Since I have zero expectations for them I'm happy they at least tried to do something dramatic.  I'm especially happy they didn't try doing a badly put together case, I don't trust the current AO writers to do mystery at all (omg it burns).  

I guess it's because I don't really care about romance, for me the romance is just lulz.  Horribly overdone taking off glasses move was hillarious xD!  From the animation I thought he threw them away!

I guess it's because I don't really care about romance, for me the romance is just lulz.  Horribly overdone taking off glasses move was hillarious xD!  From the animation I thought he threw them away!

That´s exactly why I´m not a big fan of the movies, too. Sometimes the plot sounds promising, but then it gets ruined by all that mushy and overly dramatic romance. For me, the best movie was the third one, because it hadn´t much scenes like that.
However, OVA 9 was kinda... my biggest nightmares animated. Araide proposing to Ran was one of the biggest WTF-moments I´ve ever had.

Deshou? It's like other people can't really compare to Gosho's style of delivering the story as well as the murders ^_^,  so besides watching the OVA for pure amusement purpose... (which can turn the opposite), I'm not expecting much ^^

Because I'm a straight 18 year old guy, and seeing them that tight is just... ew lol. But hey, someone enjoys it, so all the more power to ya

Honestly though, I never cared too much about the romance, but I've always cared just a little.  This was one of those test type episodes that you haven't really seen before so I kinda enjoyed it.  Looking back, my score of a 5/5 is a little high. If I were to revise it, I'd probably give it a 4 or a 4.5, but I did enjoy the premise that it presented about how Ran still would care for him after 10 years and will always care, thus giving Conan a settlement on whether or not she would.  It proved to be an interesting OVA, or so I felt.

Omg the fact that Ran waited for him for 10 years killed me I was literally sad for the whole day DD8.  I'm a complete sap to sad things and I cry easily xD.  I mean if she was living fully while waiting for him I would be happy or if she didn't look at her memories as something painful then it would be okay.  I just don't like her characterisation that much (once again, Shinichi's dream so...meh?).
