Yeah, I think I mainly hated Sally because of that, but I've grown far away from that. (Talking about Sonic X again XD)
Besides, I think Ran looks better next to Araide-sensei anyways! ^^ And Ai looks so CUTE with Mitsuhiko! 

Not sure about Ran and Araide - I don't find anything that "connects" those two. No reason why they should end with each other.
And about Ai and Mitsuhiko - well, they can look cute together, but that is not the reason why I think they would work well with each other. I like that pairing as well (since it shares some similarities with Ayumi x Conan) and it seems quite likely that they could end up together. At least Haibara has not to get over Ran like Conan has...

Because they say she "gets in the way of his relationship with other girls"... well if there are people who hate Ayumi for this reason, then doesn't that mean that there are people who may actually consider Ayumi as a real THREAT? :O (I... have the feeling somebody has mentioned something similar... hmmm....)

Hrm, I suppose it could be people perceive that she's trying to force the relationship.  Ran pines for Shinchi from time to time, be never seems to force an issue of Shinchi being her boyfriend, whether he likes it or not.  The same is for AiXConan shippers, she doesn't even pine for him, just mocks or teases him in her own way.  While its not so much in later episodes Ayumi was basically more or less, Conan, you're my boyfriend, whether you like it or not, or at least it can be perceived that way.  Anyways thats just my take, I'm sure someone that actually hates her for the reasons you asked about will answer better than I could lol.

You saying that TOTALLY just reminded me of a deviantion I saw on deviantART about Ran being all creepy and scary possessive of Shinichi. I have to admit that while it is an extreme to her forcefulness it... fit. O_O
And I'm not sure if I worded it correctly but what i'm trying to say is that if a person who hates Ayumi for that reason, saying "I hate Ayumi because she always clings to Conan and gets in the way of his moments with Ran!" (which I remember happening several times, although it wasn't JUST her! XD) aren't they saying that they MAY see Ayumi as a threat to the ShinRan relationship? (Same goes for AiCon shippers. And in this case, they have even MORE of a reason to hate Ayumi because Ayumi is portrayed as Ai-chan's "best friend" although she never says it because well.... they ACT like best friends, even though it probably has something to do with them being the only girls of the group, they still are pretty close. This means that Ai can't go after Conan unless she wants to hurt Ayumi. I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned SEVERAL times in this thread! XD) Ayumi kind of gets in the way of both- which gives those OVERLY crazy fangirls a reason to hate her.

Nah I see what you're saying, though I guess I can't really answer your question since I'm not one of her haters lol.  Still I'm sure someone will answer your question in a day or two that is.  I don't think many would see her as a threat to ShinchiXRan, since several I believe think that a lot would have to happen for a ConanxAyumi pairing to ever happen.  But you never know lol, that could be a twist Gosho pulls that no one saw coming. XD

So... I can't help but point out that AyumixConan is very VERY similar to SEVERAL couples in SERVERAL animes that end up together in the end. For example...

So maybe Gosho will possibly SEPARATE Conan from Shinichi. And lately I've been having the idea of- and don't laugh at me for this, I know it's stupid but I think it's cute! XP- that Conan returns to Shinichi and marries Ran, soon after, Ayumi moves away, becoming a young lady that is (secretly) admired by a couple of boys around the school, but back off because she's known to drop boys like rocks (she doesn't know how to let a boy down gently...) and she has a knack for SOMETHING that wins her a reward and a title (kind of like Ran and her karate... maybe Ayumi will take up ice-skating! ). Word gets over to the others about it and they come to visit. They all see her again but she's a little less.... interested in them nowadays or something to the color of that, which for some reason tugs Shinichi in the wrong way somewhere. Ran notices this. Ayumi then introduces them to her boyfriend, Mr. Gary-Sue, and Shinichi doesn't feel right about him... and actually feels a tad bit like he wants to punch the guy even though he's MR. GARY-SUE! (Oh, ALL of you want to punch Mary and Gary-sues....) They all have some type of big adventure together (possibly BO related or FBI or.... or maybe even just BOMB related as the movie writers love to use so much. Geez, them and their precious explosives.) and at the end of it, Ayumi subtly admits that the way he left her hanging (not talking to her about her crush on him before or after the wedding) took a huge toll on her growing up. So, on the way back home, there's something in Shinichi that DESPERATELY wants to go back. This is to the point it actually starts to hurt him a little. Agasa does some tests on him when they get home, Ran forced him to, and finds NOTHING. And for SOME reason, I don't know why, just because he can, he creates a machine that can see into your mind. Well, they try it out on everybody. Haibara's mind TRAUMATIZED some small children Ran was watching for Sonoko (probably Sonoko's kids), Mitsuhiko's made everyone laugh, and then they got to Shinichi and they see Conan, sitting there on the box of memories that's supposed to be of his time as Conan, tapping his foot impatiently and glaring at the screen. They realize Agasa's machine allows them to interact with this strange replica in his mind. He reveals that he doesn't approve of Mr. Gary-Sue and, crossing his arms behind his head non-nonchalantly (likes he did in episode 60 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soO-LSk- ... lated) and says that he was kind of pissed about leaving Ayumi there with him, especially after the confession he got from her. So after a while they realize that it was the Conan inside of him causing his problems, his little crush on Ayumi making him feel jealous. When Shinichi thinks Ran's going to hurt him for that, she tells him that she's not and that it's CONAN'S crush, not HIS, and that they probably want to find a way to separate the two. Once they do, Conan flies back to wherever it was Ayumi moved to and starts the competition for her with Mr. Gary-Sue.
....... I'M not even sure how this came out to be that long. O_O

So...... yeah. XD Maybe something to the color of that (except maybe not as filled with rainbows and unicorns as I pictured it in my mind) will happen! < wishful thinking.

But I DO think that AyumixConan, even if they don't end up together, will be acknowledged by Gosho. I mean, COME ON! It's obvious there's meant to be SOME type of romantic relationship between the two of them, one-sided or not! And if Shinichi and Ran were not romantic interests I'm SURE all focus would be on AyumixConan. And this brings me to movie 5, canon or not, and how the AyumixConan relationship was portrayed. Seriously, take a step back and imagine you're JUST starting Detective Conan and you see the 5th movie. Ayumi is worried that Conan has a crush on Ran at the beginning of the movie, and the writers go far enough to have Ayumi confront Ran about it, making it obvious that it's supposed to be a romantic plot-point for them. Well, by the end of the movie, they make sure that we all know that as Conan's grabs her hand (gently I may add ) and sits by her, her fears are instantly evaporated. And then they go FARTHER than that and have Ayumi say something sweet to him, in which Haibara teases him (as she does about Ran... :O Which means she may take Ayumi's crush a little more seriously... I can't remember whether somebody has said that or not. ) and he blushes a little and replies in a "M-M-Me?! Her? Nooooooo..... N- NOOOOOOOOOO.... I uhh.... she's just a friend *blush*" kind of way (at least in the dub he does). Therefor, the MOVIE WRITERS are taking AyumixConan into consideration as well.

And taking this approach to the entire series makes even the smaller AyumixConan moments seem bigger. You guys are always saying to read in between the lines for the AixConan moments... well try reading the lines between AyumixConan, too.

The story basically suggests that Ayumi is actually Ran, except from the future and shrunk by the BO. In order to save or help Conan, who she now knows is Shinichi, she must wait and grow up with him again until the date she was shrunk.

Now, I think MAYBE that's a possibility as something Gosho would do. I mean just LOOK at the similarities! LOOK how Ran treated Shinichi as a child and how Ayumi treats Conan! It just makes sense to me, I suppose. And I would be QUITE happy if this were the case.

I know, I'm probably sounding a tad bit silly, but give me a break. It's almost 3:00 AM and I THINK I'm coming down with a cold! XD

Anyways, I don't see why Gosho would give Ayumi feelings for Conan just to drop them entirely and let them be *Sad face* F...F...F... FOREVER ALOOOONE! XD
I mean, Gosho isn't the type to start something between two characters that have NO relevance to the plot. Ayumi's feelings have, as far as I'm aware of, affected the way ANYBODY acts on a case that is important to the BIGGER plot. The only thing I can possibly IMAGINE it having any affects on anything plot-related is the MitsuhikoxAi thing he's got going on for us, and they're in the SAME position. NO relevance to the BIG plot. So that means whatever Gosho is planning for the AyumixConan or AixMitsuhiko relationship is yet to come. And I hate HATE HATE to say this but... maybe the BO kill Ayumi and Mitsuhiko, fueling the fire for the end of the organization. Both Conan and Haibara would be devastated... and just plain pissed as h^^l.
It's something to consider.
Heiji and Kazuha are pretty much canon.
So are Shinichi and Ran.
But as far as we know, Conan and Haibara don't return the feelings (yet)... so what relevance could Ayumi and Mitsuhiko have...? I think it's something big.

I think I'm done ranting for now.
Oh, and I just re-read the ENTIRE thread for..... the 3rd or 4th time... I don't know why I keep reading it but... it entertains me. O_o
