Well, due to a huge demand in the Shinichi X Ran thread for more post in this thread... and since I kinda miss talking about my favorite couple... it's time to catch up what I had missed lately.

anyway i think conan and ayumi would be a nice couple if conan was conan

But Conan is Conan. No, seriously. He doesn't suddenly become another person. Especially when with the DBs he is very much like his real self (and not the one who has to pretend to be someone else when he is with Ran/Kogoro).
I know you meant this a bit differently, but once he becomes Conan (in a few years when becoming Shinichi is impossible) everything should be fine, right?

How do you all think Conan will propose?

Well, he has about 10 years to grow more courage to do so. Not like with his first girlfriend where he had serious troubles getting his feelings across.
My guess about him proposing to Ayumi:
When they solved yet another case about misunderstood love he will have to talk with Ayumi (because something similar what became the motive for the murder happened between the two of them). Being forced to act now, he finally proposes to Ayumi, which he had planed to do month ago but always found an excuse to delay it.

So IHKF, what's your favorite AyumixConan moment ?

I know I wasn't asked, but for me it was the whole hina doll case. I guess my avatar suggests that already.
Amazing what such a little girl had planed in advance just for that one photo... (Ohh, why couldn't that girl just have taken the picture and then said how they looked like hina dolls. It also showed the shift of Ayumi from the more aggressive approach towards Conan during the first cases to a more subtle one that fits better to him and that he is more comfortable with. She had gotten her point across, now she has to wait for him to accept her in his heart.

They're so cute together, it's a shame most of their fans are closet fans who don't wanna be flamed by the AiCons and ShinRans... I can tell you right now our army would be almost as big as theirs. :/

I agree. Not necessarily to the Eiuske thing but he many be a better match for her than Shinichi... but do they have anything in common? Oh well, as long as Ayumi gets Conan! XD lol JK

I do think that they are better than ShinRan and AiCon. (First of all, AiCon has no definite evidence and in some ways neither does ShinRan)They are way more interesting, it's cuter, there's more of a possible story behind them, and they just look the best together! x3

Chance... maybe.
On the other hand, most of DCs romances started that way (during childhood) and most of them turned out pretty well.
Why should Ayumi change her mind (or her heart), just because she becomes older? On the contrary, the older she gets the better she should be able to understand Conan, so the better those two would fit together...

I am more opened to discuss AiCon or reading about their moments. However,my biggest problem with Ayumi and Conan at the moment is that it will be sicking if he thinks/feels of her or likes/loves as a girl  . So, I can't see any AyuCon from his side, otherwise...

There are actually like, 10 different moments that I found with them! O_o It was about 13 or 14 minutes long as it was so I had to leave out some scenes. It looks like Gosho may be planning to separate SHinichi and Conan to me, because that would just be too cruel to do....

And it is not sickening if he thinks/feels of Haibara or likes/loves as a girl? Or for Ran if she thinks/feels of Conan or likes/loves him (even if she knew it was Shinichi)?
Are you saying it is okay as long as the child has a "mature mind"?

Seeing it from that point it should be clear that in his current situation, Conan would not be able to be in a relationship with anyone. And without an antidote... well, once Conans body is mature enough, so will be Ayumi.

Not sure what you meant here. There won't be a "splitting" of Conan, resulting in Conan and Shinichi. It wouldn't fit with the way the series works. Either there will be a way for Conan to return being Shinichi in the end (thus sealing Shinichi x Ran) - which is what I believe will happen. Or there is the possibility that he has to stay Conan for the rest of his life (a more open opening, where Ayumi has a serious chance).

Not sure what you meant here. There won't be a "splitting" of Conan, resulting in Conan and Shinichi. It wouldn't fit with the way the series works. Either there will be a way for Conan to return being Shinichi in the end (thus sealing Shinichi x Ran) - which is what I believe will happen. Or there is the possibility that he has to stay Conan for the rest of his life (a more open opening, where Ayumi has a serious chance).

I meant that he loves happy endings, and to separate Conan from them at the end of all of that is just too mean. They may hang out with Shinichi, but it wouldn't be the same anymore. Especially for Ayumi. Conan-kun is Conan-kun and while he may lead them sometimes he isn't a full-time mentor, he's mostly their friend who goes places with them that Ayumi can cling to and kiss and hug and hold and that Mitsuhiko and Genta can chase around until they're tired. It just doesn't seem like that would be a very happy ending to them for me.

To me him separating them (like the antidote having some type of OTHER reaction or maybe even putting something foreign in his body to have that reaction) isn't too far off from a pill that makes a 17-year-old into a 7-year-old. Why else would he develop AyuCon like he does with the "Do you like him?" to Ai-chan and the jealousy towards Megumi and the hugs and kisses? It may be cute but it doesn't seem likely to me Gosho would throw something in a series as serious as Detective Conan can be because it's cute.

I think that he's planning something for them at the end. It just... there doesn't seem to be another reason at the moment for him to do this unless he plans to kill and/or kidnap Ayumi/the DB in the end to motivate Conan into going after the BO even further.

It just doesn't seem like it would be that far a stretch if Gosho does it right.

But if that doesn't happen I'm rooting for the second ending that you mentioned which also actually seems pretty likely to me with the way DC is when it gets serious.
