Sorry, but the "it's just like this other thing" arguments are almost always the most baseless and vacuous argument for defending anything. Plus, if the first thing you list to kick stuff off is Amy and Sonic, there's not much help.

And didn't bother? There are typos in all KINDS of places ALL the time. I'm sure there's another manual SOMEWHERE who accidently spelled their character's name incorrectly. And I wasn't making it my staring argument. I just made it my STARTING argument. (Or was THAT a typo? XD lol)

Epic fail much? Amy is MUCH cooler (and more modest clothes-wise) than Sally. I think SALLY is kind of a Mary-Sue! XD Still, even if that was what happened back then, Amy is now a VERY much loved character and has appeared in FAR more than Sally ever did.

About the "Another Big Shrink" fanfiction: Gosho tried to be realistic so far. No, I don't expect time-traveling to happen. Not cannon-wise. But it was a nice idea. (I read the FF years ago. )

Also... why do I know most of the pairings you mentioned here.



I also wonder how Gosho wants to solve the Ayumi x Conan pairing that he created and needs to put to a (good) end one way or another when he ends the series. I hope he mentions it more often in future cases though. *sigh*

But I don't think he will. There MUST be a purpose for AyumixConan if it's not canon (from both sides, anyways). And for some reason I'm willing to bet it has something to do with the organization....

No, I highly doubt that. The most obvious reason why Gosho created that pairing would be for the humorous aspect of Ayumi x Conan - a little girl falling in love with him because he is actually her age now. And because it is so irresistibly cute.

Making it both-sided would kinda defeat the purpose. Making it both-sided would mean that Conan has given up to become Shinichi, which is his motivation throughout the series. Becoming Shinichi, returning back to his normal life (which thanks to the "frozen time" is still waiting for him) and then being with Ran like nothing ever happened.

Ayumi's chance comes when Conan can not just return to Shinichi anymore. If he were missing from school for 1 year it should have consequences for him. At the very least when Ran enters university while he is still Conan (and thus can't enter with her), they would slowly drift apart. I mean, beside not being able to see each other properly for 1 year and everything.
Then being a child and being with Conan for at least the next 5 years in Elementary School would give Ayumi an actual advantage. And when Conan finally gives up on ever returning to his former life... well, at some point he just has to notice Ayumi. (No matter how clumsy he can be in love-issues.)


However, since I strongly think that Conan will get an antidote in the end (and at a time where he can return to be Shinichi without a problem), there has to be another solution for him and Ayumi. Maybe she will accept it (which means that she learns that her Conan is Shinichi-kun). She will come over it. Somehow. But how exactly... that is the exciting thing.

I don't think that falling for Ayumi means he's giving up as Shinichi. I think it just gives him another reason to stay as Conan- which he probably won't like very much! XD *Thinks of Conan with FFFFFFFFFF face* This'll make it tougher to choose.
Maybe he is walking her home after they dropped everybody else off and she tripped, causing him to catch her and get a clear view of her eyes. She looks up, eyes shimmering in the moonlight aaannd... *Snaps fingers* she's got him. (I know it won't be THAT easy but...) Then he may go home and start freaking out "OH MY GOD! WTH WAS THAT?! WHAT DID I JUST DO?!" so the love triangle between AyumixConanxRan TRULY begins. 

(No, I don't really think this scenario is going to happen... but it would be cute to see...)

I think there's more to them than that... Gosho usually doesn't do things just for the sake of them being cute.
Most character development is linked to a case.
I think that says something about what may go down with AyumixConan. And if it WERE just for it being cute...
Why make Haibara support it...?
Why carry it out like this? (We still see some AyuCon scenes every now and then.)
And if he already had them for that kind of reason why add the coupling of AixMitsuhiko?

And yeah. He'll probably get an antidote. But that doesn't mean Ayumi needs to give up. >:)
I mean, what if something were to HAPPEN to Ran...  (NOT implying Ayumi HERSELF killed her... just saying that maybe Ran isn't with him anymore...)
He'd be all devastated for a long time and Ayumi (innocently thinking she could help him) goes in to comfort him, not realizing she's acting a bit too cute and seducing him in his state of weakness. 
Then before we know it, there's 18 year-old Ayumi, being cuddled by Shinichi.
This happens after he realizes how similar she is to Ran. (Which is how I think maybe something to Kobayashi-sensei's love case will take place, her thinking she's there just because she looks like his dead wife... girlfriend... friend... lover... whatever, and keeps her distance, not realizing he fell for her because he saw the woman she would become and knew that he wanted to be with that woman. (TOTALLY off-base with what's going to happen but is trying to say that Ayumi still has a chance even if he returns to Shinichi)


But I DO agree with the university statement. COME ON RAN! *Throws her bags* OUT OUT OUT! *kicks her out door* Go study in London or France or WHEREVER! Just STAY AWAY FROM JAPAN! *Locks door then chains Ayumi and Conan together* You two get along.

I know I'm complaining for no reason and possibly sound spoiled.

But I think all of you AyumixConan lovers would like to know I went out and put all of the AyuCon moments together... i got a full 14 minutes out of it. I even got proof that Haibara thinks Conan has feelings for Ayumi (or at least thinks Ayumi has a chance) in there. So yeah... AyumixConan NOT the most unlikely couple! XD


EDIT: Not to mention I... I think I MISSED some moments, too. :O

Honestly, here's my viewpoint on AyumiXConan; I don't like it, it kinda sickens me tbh, mainly because I don't like Ayumi, at all.

However, I do acknowledge that there a lot of scenes where there is AyumixConan, which is 100% one sided ( if you're honestly going to argue that I'm wrong about this...put away the shipperism).

Unfortunately, it's not going to happen, because there is really only one true pairing for Shinichi/Conan, and that's ShinxRan.  Even if there was an OVA alternate ending in the series to satisfy other fans who dislike ShinxRan, it's not going to be AyumixConan, sorry - not being mean, but it's simply not that popular of a pairing for an alternate ending. If there was going to be an alternate ending, its gonna be ConxAI suckers.  Second most popular pairing with Kudo.

Also, about closure regarding Ayumi and Conan; I can see some humorous interactions, and maybe some jealously at Ran-nee-chan, and Shinichi saying sorry to Ayumi.  If a timeskip occurs and shows Ayumi older, she might still be trying to hit/flirt with Shinichi.  I really don't see Ayumi ending up with the other DBs since she's never shown any interest in them, and her Shinichi/Conan obsession is comparable to Ran's.  I can also see her crying about how Conan is actually Shinichi, and then Shinichi cheering her up.

And yes, ShinRan is probably going to be the only couple that lasts throughout the series. But I think if they make an alternate ending it MAY end of in AyuCon- just because it's not popular doesn't mean he won't make it happen.

Honestly, if he DOES leave the DB's high and dry... Ayumi's too good for him anyways. I mean, if he's dense enough that he doesn't see the fantastic little girl that he has right in front of him that wants NOTHING but his happiness and to shower him in affection- he doesn't deserve her. Before the series ends, I'd like Conan to stop Ayumi from getting on a d^^n plane- trying to LEAVE him! >:O
