There was a Ai+Mitsuhiko thread once on these boards that contained a battle so fierce it almost destroyed DCTP forums. We lost great warriors like Ginrei would sacrificed himself to save his whole battalion, Akonyl who jumped into a volcano chasing after a ring, ranger who used his final moments to help everyone escape, and Jd- who revealed himself to be the evil master mind behind everything.

As you can see this was an epic battle that went down in history as one of the most epic battles ever.......and still the Ai+Mitsuhiko thread was about ten pages. Unless we ride the "off-topic" wave to 100pages I don't see it happening.

Ayumi is a retarded weakling, third-person-speaking brat/fangirl who is actually a cross-dressing boy designed by Gosho to be the eternal hostage who always shouts "Conan-kun!". A certified cry-baby, trying-hard cutie and the self-proclaimed wh*re of the DB.

We all know Ai is jealous of Ayumi.

Jealous about her nice and happy childhood and all the friends she has? Maybe.
But at the same time she is also happy for her. And wishes for her happiness in the future.

I like Ayumi, in a lot of ways she is like Ran as a child, and is the glue that holds the detective boys together. Her crush on Conan has been much more played down over the years, proabaly because the Black Organization and Conan trying to get back to his body is used more frequently.

She still likes him, but they don't talk about it as much it seems. I could see Conan+Ayumi in a romantic sense if the following happened...

1) Ran dies. This is the only way ShinxRan won't happen. I don't know how this could happen, and the moment it does, then there are proabaly only a few months at the most left in the series.

2) Ai can't turn them back. At this point it's more of a who will Conan pick? (Santa-san, Ai, or Ayumi). Ai might seem the obvious choice, but I really do see Conan having the chance to accept Ayumi (if only to replace Ran) if they grow up together and Conan's identity is exposed to the detective boys at some point before it ends. But that just seems so sad, and if Ran is alive, Conan will have no other, no matter the age.

Ayumi's Good Traits

The Innocence and Strong will ~ She shares this with Ran, Ayumi is a pure angel of love and happiness, dead bodies seem to have no effect on her personality, I mean given how many bodies her and Ran have saw are easily 16x that or anyone whom doesn't work in a professional dealing with said dead people, and how young they are, you'd think they'd be having nightmares all the time. Nope, just one scream and they are normal again.

This will has had a powerful effect on Ai's character development, from both Ran and Ayumi, they have shown her sides of the human condition she thought didn't exist. 

Ayumi's Bad Traits

Hypocrite ~ The only real flaw is that she's something of a hypocrite, as shown in the episode where she basically called Conan a monster for rightly suspecting someone she liked of murder. It's not a big flaw, and expected from a child anyway.

Overall

Ayumi is a very fun character, she lacks Ran's non-involvement in Conan's life, but lacks Ai's knowing of the truth. Putting her right between the two for the most part. I still wonder who Ayumi's Mom is, and why only her legs have been shown to date. Maybe Ayumi's Mom is the boss of the BO? lol xD but seriously, SHOW HER.
