But yeah, the newest AOs I will bluntly say, are dry and tasteless.  If you're craving for DC though, might as well watching them.  But if you're time crunched, you might want to skip a couple AOs and wait until the manga cases

Yeah, I had a feeling it would. It's most likely why I'm going to change it, but I'm perusing what I have and what I'm getting before I decide on one.

Some are decent. A notable number of the early AO's have manga comparable mysteries. I picked five I liked well enough at random.
Valentine Murder Case: a dumb jock hits on Ran and accidentally kisses Conan. Funny. (episode 6)
SOS! Message From Ayumi! (episode 140)
A Cursed Mask Laughs Coldly: One of the best AO mysteries (episode 184)
The Secret of the High Sales: Conan's mind gets messed with. Funny. (episode 225)
The Out of Control Rental Car: More suspense than mystery (episode 471)

184 is actually one of the best episodes ever, in my opinion.
Absolutelly amazing.

I also suggest 180-181 (The Nocturne of Red Murderous Intent) for being a really fun case and 150-151 (The Truth of the Exploding Car Case) for Kogoro ruling the universe.

150-151 Anime Original??? I always though that was a manga case, I really liked it. It is obvious who did it, but I've always seen those episodes as acharacter develpment episodes.

The whole thing about Kogorou's past and the flashbacks....very good stuff.

I didn´t like 180-181 very much because to me it was similar to the Bandaged Man Murder Case.
