Are they all bad or are some worth watching?

IMO, they tend to be less engaging/thoughtful than the manga-based stories, but most of them are fun enough. The one that just got subbed, "The Half-Completed Crime," is a pretty good one.

I usually like them better the older they are...when I don't have to wait through them for 5-6 weeks before getting a new manga-based episode. T_T

While AO's aren't as good as manga-based, I don't see a reason to not watch them.

I also suggest 180-181 (The Nocturne of Red Murderous Intent) for being a really fun case and 150-151 (The Truth of the Exploding Car Case) for Kogoro ruling the universe.

Honestly, I would watch them all up through 200. After that, maybe pick and choose or come back to them later, although there are some AOs in the 300s and 400s I'm pretty fond of.

Well. I just finished watching every available translated episode I could find, from 1-565, movies 1-13 plus Lupin vs Conan, and the OVAs. Took about four months, but here I am, waiting like everyone else. I have to say, that even though some of the anime originals lacked a bit of panache, there are some that are truly quite enjoyable to watch.
