tell me about it, and I love ran's English VA
You guys can't be serious... I could go on for weeks, criticizing the VAs... Actually, I kinda did that with my friends already!
oh get over it, the dub can not be held to the same standard as the subs. the subs get to say what ever they want, the dub has to say the same thing within the time requirements set by the lip movements of the original. also they have to put in the same emotion into their performances as the original, also they may want to do something with the character that makes more sense in English. I say that dubs might not be better but they are more enjoyable to watch.
That's not the say the dub is the worst. Kogoro's voice is perfect, the best of the bunch, and Megure's voice is also incredibly well done. And if you've ever heard Shiratori's, you'll hear how much of a PERFECT fit Eric Vale was in that role. And according to the movie 5 trailer, they finally got Gin's voice right. But you can't just tell people to "get over it." If they think it's crap, then they think it's crap, which it seems a majority think. And also, on the lip movement argument, even the Japanese version has audio that doesn't match lip movements.
I agree, Megure, Kogoro, Shirtatori (aka, Santos lmao), Gin, and Kudo all have good VAs. The guy who voices Richard should learn japanese, so then we can send his ass to Japan to replace the current seiyuu for Kogoro.
Genta's voice is also pretty good, I think it suits him quite well.
My least favorite would have to be Rachel's, Conan's, Mit, Ayumi (omg, I thought she was annoying in the original version, godamn), and I've started to dislike Ai's when I saw movie 4.
also why does everyone hate agasa he sounds he doing the English equivalent of the japanese va to me.
However, there are times that it is a little too much that stuff is a little hard to hear. For example, when he's presenting his riddle to the kids in The Last Wizard of the Century, I had no idea what he said, because it was said too fast for that kind of a voice, and I only understood it when Vye (talking about English dub, so using English name to prevent confusion) explained the solution.

The first was online for a while, so no caring much about it, but I have to say that the latter trailer was very interesting. I think I'll say it's better than the original (except for music, of course). Mid-February can't come soon enough.
See them here.
