movie 8 felt a bit choppy for me, I kinda loved it up until the end of the confrontation with Kid. I liked Movie 10 a lot, though, and I quite like 2 and 4 as well. I enjoyed 13 but it did feel a bit, I dunno... how do I say it? overdone? Don't know. I ADORED movie 6, though. absolutely adored it. 7 wasn't bad either.

I kinda disliked 1, and 12 was awfully slow. I kind of have no opinion at all on 11. I just can't seem to care about it.

I loathed #6, Phantom of Baker Street, primarily because it was out of genre. (Think OOC) I have only seen it once because I don't want to rewatch it because it made such a strong negative impression on me. The climax made no sense since Conan would have had been bashed to death against the walls. I'm glad they haven't made another like it. The only part I remember liking about it was the social critique. There were also some funny moments too I rewatched, but I can't bring myself to do over the whole thing. Maybe after writing this I will muster up my courage and go remind myself of the specific points I abhorred.

I have a hard time picking the best movie as there are a bunch of ones I like and find myself rewatching. Five, Countdown to Heaven, has been the most rewatched but I'm not sure if it is my favorite because of stiff competition by #2, The Fourteen Target, which has many strong points. Besides the usual 1-5, I also found myself liking #7, Crossroad in the Ancient Capital, because the investigation stage of that case was great. I also liked #9, Strategy Above the Depths, primarily because Kogoro wasn't useless the whole case and had a couple of shining moments.
#13, The Raven Chaser, I found myself liking a lot despite the implausibility of the Syndicate shooting up the Tokyo tower and the "how did Matsumoto send out SOS beetles" problem. The police meeting was great and having the suspects all be protagonists reminded me of OVA 2. You got three mysteries for the price of one in that movie. I am glad the producers bucked the trend of making Ran the damsel in distress instead of the distressingly dangerous damsel she was originally. Too bad Ai wasn't more involved.
I vote for Ai doing more awesome stuff in the next movie other than being a worrywort about "You'll get killed!" etc. It would be quite a different flavor.

My favorites:

4th: This one is probably, in my opinion, in my top three favorite Conan movies. One of my favorite scenes in DC movies, and one of my all time favorite scenes in ANY movie, is when Ran is holding Sato's wounded body, and then she looks at her hands, which are completely covered in blood, and just LOSES it. You can see it in her face, she has just lost touch with reality and mentally breaks and snaps. You couldn't write a better scene for an animated film than that.

7th: This is my favorite one, and I admit it's mostly for superficial reasons, like it being a big Heiji and Kazuha film, and I love the twist in the end that I was actually NOT expecting at all, and usually I can see obvious big time twists from a mile away. But all in all I loved this film.

9th: This is probably my second favorite, and if you're a Kogoro fan, you'll REALLY love this movie. I actually am very happy that Kogoro was able to get his moment in the sun, because no matter how clueless he can sometimes be, he still is a smart detective, and even he deserves a chance to shine. I also loved the scene where the killer kept egging him on, and he just kept saying "I never hit a woman." It was just SO cool and badass, though the whole end was so silly.

And these ones are ones I don't like:

10th: This is definitely the second worst one, and I think even the writers realized this, so they tried to compensate by packing a large cast. Even with the big cast, it's still a flat film with a flat plot, and a really confusing at points murder case. And of course, Genta being an idiot and leaving his exploding wristwatch ON him even after there was this whole ten minute scene where they showed everyone REMOVING THE DAMN THINGS, I just thought that was TOO overly stupid for Genta. He's dumb, but come on, I think someone would have noticed that.

11th: Worst of them all, no doubt about it. The first hour or so was a little OK, when they were trying to figure out the murder, and the Detective Boys were solving the puzzle. After that, the movie becomes nearly unwatchable, especially when the hunters kidnap Ran and Sonoko. I mean, COME ON. Ran wouldn't even try to beat the crap out of those two? Really? THOSE chumps? She could've just knocked them out, thrown them overboard, and then drove the boat back herself. But instead, she becomes a complete wuss, Sonoko is an idiot again, and the treasure is really the stupid boat. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. They were just trying to forcefeed the whole stupid thing where Ran and Sonoko are the only ones able to get to the treasure, and it was just such a stupid bore. These games were so lame, yet they were treated like they were unstoppable! Not only that, this was probably the slowest of all of the movies. I am never watching this piece of crap again.

He's dumb, but come on, I think someone would have noticed that.

You can't blame Genta for that. He was in the toilet and had no idea about the watches were collected. And of course he had no idea how bad it could be if he kept it...
So, blame either Chiba (who collected them), Kid (who stole Sonokos watch and returned it without noticing anyone), or Conan and Heiji and everyone else who knew how dangerous the watch were but didn't double-check if they were all collected. But not Genta.
I liked the movie, but I can't stand the villain. Come one, did he really have to use real explosives? Especially on innocents? I know he is supposed to be an arrogant megalomaniac but it still hurts my impression of the film.

My favorite is Movie 5 (Countdown to Heaven). Especially for the big roles of the Detective Boys in this one.  :)

And the worst one is Movie 7... I don't care about Heiji and Kazuha and a lot of things felt forced. Especially the antidote and the short backtransformation to Shinichi felt completely out of place.

I'd been excitedly anticipating M10 but its awesomeness didn't live up to its cast. For Hakuba's first movie appearance, it wasn't as good as I thought it'd be.

(M10 spoiler.)
Spoiler:
Even though Hakuba was Kid.

Even 7 wasn't as good as I thought. (That came from a Heiji and Kazuha fan.)
13 was great until the BO came and started shooting the Tokyo Tower.
In 12, well.. it was okay for me, I loved the explosions, it was just OOC for Conan to have perfect pitch and also suddenly be able to sing at the right Hertz by hearing it just once.

Best movie for me would be the 2nd and 4th. Especially 4th.
No amount of apologies will express how much I regret it.

I think the only ones that I don't care too much for are 6 and 11. I'm fine with the others. *still needs to ponder an actual fave*

The best

5 - Count Down to Heaven: good plot,  but ending trying to be too badass. Mitsuhiko, Ai cool, even Genta. Ayumi very cute.

7 - Crossroad in the Ancient Capital: it felt the most what a DC should look like, really good investigation part with some good action. Would have been  better without needless transformation.

9 - Strategy Above the Depths: Conan having his ass handed to him by Kogoro. ENOUGH SAID! Lot of good fanservice too, but rescue scene should not have been.

12 - Full Score of Fear: very good mystery part, really liked the new characters. But the boat telephone rescue scene was serious failure, Conan's pitch also fishy.

The lesser ones

1 - The Time Bombed Skyscraper: good investigation, but the big ending was stupid.

3 - The Last Magician of the Century: not a Kid fan, neither of fake history. First half was better.

4 - Captured In Her Eyes: decent plot at first, but not liking chasing in park. Too cheesy.

10 - The Private Eyes' Requiem: decent investigation, stupid motive in the end. Tension was good overall, but last scene very fishy. Haibara!!!

11 - Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure: enjoyable at first, but idiotic final. Ship wtf, Ran paralyzed!?

The worst

2 - The Fourteenth Target: bad mystery, not too coherent. Very unrealistic final.

6 - The Phantom of Baker Street: idiotic plot, too much scifi. Absolutely catastrophic attempt at social commentary.

8 - Magician of the Silver Sky: uninteresting first half. Still not Kid fan. Then unfuckingbelievably disastrous disaster film. Heavy presence of the Queen in second half redeems a bit.

13 - The Raven's Chaser: too many too stupid moves from BO. Military helicopter fails me.

Faves:
3 - The midfied Anastasia's story was very beautiful.
5 - My all-time favorite. It was action-packed. There's also the BO! And the case was really good.
10 - I dunno but it was very thrilling.

Least Faves:
4 - It was so cheesy, I never wanted to watch it again.
11 - Murder cases are much much better.

I really thought that 13 would be one of my faves but I was wrong. 13th movie lacks action. And it was very predictable.

Couldn´t agree more. I thought I could live well with ShinichixRan just by ignoring it, but this movie proved me better.

It might be silly, but my favourite movies are based on Ran/Shinchi relationship and interaction  ;), then the plot in general:

movie 4: my favourite, romance and action (it was great to hear Shinchi confessing his love, even though Ran did not know)  ;D

movie 8: another confession, but this time from Ran, was funny in the beginning when Kid disguised as Shinchi, also having Kid in added a sense of humour, it might be only me, but I liked the plane bit.

movie 7:  what was there not to like  :), I am a fan of Heji+Kazuha too -good-, Heji and Conan together solving a case was also good and funny as usual, story good.

movie 1: It was good enough for me to like, it matched my criteria  :)

movie 2: the second half of it made it good

movies 3 and 5 : I like them in general

have a feeling that I will add movie 14 to the favourite movies' list  :D

I did not like any of the movies from 9 to 12 ( except Shinchi/Conan moments with Ran)

movie 13: disappointing, may be because of the preview, If I did not see the preview, I would have enjoyed it at least, but I had great expectations, but from now on I am not going to build any expectations based on to the preview.

The movies are okay, I can't watch them too many times because I'll hurt myself laughing.  Some of them are so bad it's good.  Some of them are just bad.  I usually have to keep skipping ahead because I can't stand it anymore.

I have to say that overall though, I've always loved all of the DC movies. They've always seemed to me to have wonderful, original storylines and kept relatively OOC...

...of course, my perception may be skewed because before I came to DC I was a major InuYasha fan, and I... I don't want to start on how dire the IY movies are. I just don't. Two of them used more or less precisely the same storyline, dammit, and three end in precisely the same fashion, with the only differences being of a "fill-name-in-the-blank" nature! Don't get me started. Trust me, compare the DC movies to THOSE and the DC movies are masterpieces of cinematography.

My favorites are;

(1) Movie 4: Captured in Her Eyes
(2) Movie 6: Phantom of Baker Street
- used to be my all time favorite but as I rewatched the movies, it got overtaken by Movie 4 probably because of the cheesy moments; But for me, this is the best DC movie ever...
(3) Movie 5 Countdown to Heaven
(4) Movie 2: The 14th Target
(5) Movie 13: The Raven Chaser

It's surprising that movies with Kid aren't included in my list...

hi im new here nice to meet you all.

My favorite Conan movies would be

captured in her eyes

phantom of baker street

14th target

The more recent ones were not that great to me in my opinion. The series its self feels kind of watered down now days but I still enjoy it for what it is and I plan to keep watching this series since I had a long history with it already (ive been renting this series at a Japanese video rental store ever since I was in 5th grade).
