Movie 4's ending was horrible Discussion Thread

I've seen Kaitou Kid dodge Conan's soccer ball.

But he has also been hit by it so it cancels out.  Besides, Kaitou had an unfair advantage in being in the air when he barely dodged the soccer ball (if we are talking about the same one), something the other culprits didn't have.

The ending was pretty dumb, he sees a can fly up into the air, so instead of immediately shooting conan and ran he actually looks at the can THE ENTIRE TIME IT'S UP IN THE AIR then waits for conan to kick it, THEN tries to shoot

I'm going to go against the grain here, as I thought it was a pretty good ending myself.  After the fountains start, the doctor plays it smart by talking, and then continuing to circle a bit after he stops talking.  This way they have no idea where he'll be attacking from and it allows him to see them if they try to sneak out the back.  At this point, he becomes overconfident, figuring he has the upper hand, and when the can goes up, shoots at it to remove the distraction.  Then he does take a blind shot into the fountain, just like many here have said he should.  Luckily for Conan, it just misses his right foot.  The fountains fall to the point where they can see each other, at which point the doctor lines up a shot to finish it.  But he's stunned by the unexpected light emitted from Conan's shoe as Conan kicks the can, and hesitates just long enough to get's hit by the can (which must be flying at an incredible speed to knock the doctor off his feet).

Still, I can see how it's not really a Conan ending.  Conan usually out-thinks his opponents, which doesn't seem to happen in this case.  Here's a proposal for a better ending.  Let me know what you think:

1 ) Conan counts down, with Ran joining in, and the fountains shoot up.  Ran sees the gun protruding from the fountains and regains her memory.

2 ) The doctor says there's nowhere to hide, and *stays put* with his gun trained solely on the center of the fountain.  

3 ) Conan ushers Ran out the back of the fountain (after all, this is water, not a wall), but drops his voice transmitter button in the center before he leaves

4 ) Ran and Conan slowly make their way to the far exit of the fountain square, then split up, Ran going one way around the outside of the square, and Conan the other.

5 ) Conan uses his necktie to carry on a brief conversation with the doctor, and with the transmitter still being in the center of the fountain, the doctor keeps his focus there.

6 ) The fountains come down, the doctor prepares to shoot, just to find out that there's no-one there!

7 ) Suddenly, from his left, Ran comes charging towards him.  He goes to aim the gun at her only to have...

8 ) a super-kicked can come exploding from the right, knocking the gun from his hands.

9 ) Ran finishes the job, using her karate to turn all emotion she had focused inward out on the doctor instead.

10 ) Police pull up just in time to clean up the mess.

if it was me i wouldn't have pulled the gun back when the water came up i would have just started shooting immediately

nice thinking although I doubt Conan would let Ran go towards the culprit, more so after he was saving her from him for so long
she could do it on her own behalf though

try to hold your hand in a massive wall of water sometime, water actually has a lot of power and it should be quite painful to have your arm in that 
I agree that he could've made one or two shots just before it got TOO painful, though

speaking of which, I would like to see a pic of Ran losing her mind after Satou was shot. That was...kinda creepy.

You actually stated the problem here. If you truly believe that he moved from his original position to catch Conan off guard(what I assumed at the time) he should of known that shooting that can would immediately give away his position. It also doesn't help that it's clear that he shot the can in frustration than out of pure reflex and that his shot at Conan was more like a warning shot. He aimed at a high target and immediately aims at a ground level target without bothering to adjust himself....I doubt he even believed that shot would hit anything but ground.

But I agree that in the moment that ending was awesome. It wasn't until this topic that I replayed the ending in my head and actually saw that it didn't make much sense. . But then again DC villains are like the villains of old, they must tell you their elaborate plan and why they are doing it.
